As I get older and the burden of life gets heavier, sometimes I feel frustrated with the situation, and that's what makes me feel like I have to accept the situation and continue living this life full of obstacles and surprises. Traveling is an important reason for me to be happy and visit some quiet tourist attractions to get peace and comfort. Yesterday afternoon I took a trip to an old tourist attraction in my area, precisely in Peulimbang sub-district which is only 18 kilometers from the center of Bireuen. I took this trip alone and the main reason I took this trip was to find peace and tranquility.
The place I visited is popularly known as Neulop Reservoir, and this place was once a very popular tourist spot in its time, but now this place has been abandoned and has been transformed into a heavenly garden, and in this place we can see a lot of beauty ranging from natural beauty to artificial beauty which of course is still highly recommended to visit, especially in the afternoon.
Upon arriving at this place, I immediately stopped for a moment on the edge of the reservoir to capture some of the beauty that this place has to offer.
Not much has changed in this place, the reservoir still looks the same without any additions or expansions being made here, even the small dam on the edge of the reservoir is still the same with its yellow paint color.
And to the left of this dam building there is a small bend that goes down and that's where I stopped when I visited this place.
After I parked my motorbike under a pine tree, I immediately walked to find a suitable spot for me to rest first. However, the sound of the water in the irrigation made me unable to resist if I didn't approach it first.
And what is unique is that in this place there are two irrigation channels, one small and the other large and the water from this irrigation also comes from the Neulop reservoir. The condition of the water in this irrigation also depends on the reservoir water, if the reservoir water is dirty then the water in this irrigation is also dirty and vice versa.
And since this place was abandoned, visitors who come to this place are also very few or even none at all, and that is the reason I visited this place, because sometimes silence can give a perfect calming effect for us.
In addition, from this pine tree place we can also see the beautiful view of the Nulop reservoir dam directly, even the sound from the dam can be heard loudly in both my ears.
Would you believe it, in the past there were lots of chairs or kiosks on the edge of this dam and every day there were always lots of visitors coming to this place, but now everything has changed, now there is only the view of the dam.This tourist spot has been abandoned for so long that the remains of the former tourist spot are no longer visible at all, and now only a stretch of green grass decorates the area.
After feeling like I had rested enough under the pine tree, I decided to walk closer to the dam, and right next to the dam there were also steps that could be climbed so that the view of the dam could be seen more clearly.
And when I was very close to the dam, the sound of the gurgling water became louder in my ears, even when the wind blew, the splashes of water from the dam hit my body.
For those who have never visited this place, perhaps the beauty offered by this place at this time can certainly provide its own satisfaction for them, but for people who have known this place for a long time, perhaps this place now feels more boring than before.
And what happens in this place now is just silence and tranquility. But behind all that there is one thing that makes me really appreciate this place, namely even though this place is rarely visited, the cleanliness and beauty of this place are still maintained, of course the natural beauty.
And after being satisfied enjoying the beauty offered by this dam, I decided to return to the pine tree area, and the next thing I wanted to do was to really enjoy every beauty offered by this place.
In my opinion, this place is very peaceful, especially when I visited this place in the afternoon and the charm of the sunset was felt in front of it, like the weather that looked yellow because of the sun that was about to set, the distinctive aroma of nature was also felt in this place.
And my hope for this place is that it will remain sustainable, even though this place is no longer a tourist spot, but the natural beauty offered by this place is enough to cure boredom, and of course it is suitable for visiting with friends.
