Travel to Aceh Museum // Popular tourist destination in downtown Banda Aceh

in Worldmappin4 days ago

Good night to all my beloved hive friends ♥️

Today at exactly one o'clock in the afternoon, I again took the time to visit the most historic place in the center of Banda Aceh, namely the Aceh Museum. Honestly, previously I did not know about the existence of this place, I had not even heard of its name, but fortunately I got information about this place from my uncle, so after getting this useful information, I immediately prepared myself to immediately visit this place.

It turns out that the location of this place is not too far from the city center, and it only takes about 4 minutes to get to this place, and I made this trip using an online motorcycle taxi service, so I have to make the most of this trip.

From the main road, this museum is across the river, so if you want to go in there, you have to cross the bridge first, but the river is not too big so the bridge is not too long, and it only takes a few steps to cross it.

And when I wanted to go inside, I saw a gate that also had uniqueness and extraordinary architectural value, so that it made me feel very excited to immediately capture its beauty.

As soon as I entered the museum building area, I was immediately amazed by the beauty offered by this place, this place also has a very amazing garden that can attract my attention to enjoy its beauty, besides that, in this museum area I can also see four main buildings, each of which has its own function.

However, before I entered each building one by one, I chose to explore the outside of this museum first, because as soon as I arrived at this place I immediately felt satisfied and excited to explore it right away.

This is the main park that we can find in the museum area, moreover, this park is also located right in front of the traditional Acehnese house, so this park is a park that has many benefits, especially for the beauty of the yard of the traditional Acehnese house itself

In front of this park there are also two roads, one leading to the left and one leading to the right, but at that time I chose to walk to the left first.

And I can immediately see a beautiful monument right on the side of the road, besides that, this monument is also the most beautiful point around this park, because at this point I can see almost all parts of the park to the buildings in this museum area.

But from this point I also felt very curious about a building in front of me, this building looks very unique with a very interesting architectural value.

I cannot describe the architectural value of this building, but it can be seen from several sides of the roof down to the ground, and I also do not know the name of the model of this building, but what is certain is that this building is truly beautiful and extraordinary.

I also don't know the name of this building and its function, but when I arrived right under this building, I immediately found several miniature replicas of historical buildings in the city center of Banda Aceh, such as a miniature of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque from time to time.

Appearance of the Baiturrahman Mosque building in 1873

In 1873, the building of this mosque still looked ordinary and had a roof without a dome, but the uniqueness and architecture of this building was already very visible and the typical Acehnese customs could be felt.

This building is a building built by King Iskandar Muda and is one of the most beautiful and famous building centers in Banda Aceh City, especially after being hit by the devastating tsunami in Aceh in 2004, this mosque did not experience any damage, from this incident made this mosque building even more famous until now, and currently the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque building is the main tourist attraction that will be visited by tourists visiting the city of Banda Aceh.

Appearance of the Baiturrahman Mosque building in 1879

In 1879, the mosque building had undergone many changes, even in terms of its architecture itself, and in this year, the mosque building also had a dome on top of it, making it have a new, elegant appearance.

Appearance of the Baiturrahman Mosque building in 1936

This year, this building has undergone many changes, starting from the front which now looks wider, to the roof which now has 3 domes on top, the more domes there are, the wider and bigger the mosque building will be.

Appearance of the Baiturrahman Mosque building in 1957

It is clear that this year the mosque building already has a pool in front of it, and the domes have also become 5, the architecture of the building is also very mature, I really like the architecture of the Baiturrahman mosque building this year, because it has an architectural value that is not too exaggerated but still beautiful.

But unfortunately I have not been able to find a miniature replica of the mosque building from the current year, and most likely the replica of the mosque building is still inside the building or placed in a special place. However, information about the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque building is currently very easy to obtain. Currently, the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque building is very modern, but still maintains the traditional architectural value of Aceh, the domes still number 5, but now this building has a very large yard and has a large umbrella as a roof as a place to shelter from the hot sun or from heavy rain.

After seeing and understanding every event from time to time makes my experience or knowledge increase, and that is one of the benefits that we can take when we visit the museum. However, after being satisfied observing every detail of this building, I immediately left the building, and decided to walk towards the Acehnese traditional house building.

For those who don't know, this is what the traditional Acehnese house looks like. The Acehnese house is a rectangular stilt house built on poles, so that it can be seen from various angles. The shape of this traditional house is quite high from the ground, and this can prevent flooding or attacks by wild animals and people who want to do evil.(That is the information I got from the guidebook given to me by the museum, because when we visit this museum we will definitely be given a guidebook about the history of Aceh, of course, and even if it is not given we can still ask for it.)

And around this building there are also very beautiful gardens, therefore I decided to explore the entire outside of this museum first so that none of the beauty would be missed.

It so happened that I visited this museum right at noon, so of course this place still looked very quiet, but this also gave me a big advantage because I could explore this museum thoroughly smoothly.

After exploring the entire outside of the museum, my next goal was to explore each building one by one, and see what surprises were inside.Well, those are some pictures and stories from me in this post, I really hope that this post can provide entertainment for all of my friends. All of these pictures are purely my own, I took this picture using an Infinix 10 Pro cellphone and edited this picture using the Lightroom application.

See you again in my next post ♥️

Yes but this place is in Indonesia. I am sorry I forgot to mention I will visit my local museum and not this one because I cannot afford to perhaps.

Ooooo that sounds great, surely every museum holds a lot of history about their respective regions.
