Following my last post about these amazing gardens in Singapore, a decent focus on likely the most iconic structures of this place had to be done: the Supertrees!
It's impossible not to notice them, even from afar. After all, some of them reach near 50 meters high! There are 18 of them, and the majority are gathered in a central area, called the Supertree groove; the other ones live not far away.

What exactly are these structures, you might ask?

What really surprised me was how well all this was engineered: a perfect example of a project done right! Besidse, there are two more attractions that generate some income: an observatory on the highest tree, giving you a stunning view of Singapore; and a skywalk. And of course, I've visited both of them! After all, Singapore is not exactly next door for me, so I might as well explore all I could!
Walking around the gardens with the supertrees nearby is already a not to miss experience. But I won't dwelve on that subject, since last post covered most of it.

Apart from staring at them (and snapping tons of photos), you have two possible activities, as I mentioned. Prices are not that cheap, so if I had to pick one, definitely the observatory would be the choice; the skywalk doesn't go that high, so the view from the observatory is far far better: nothing less than a 360º view of all the surroundings!
An elevator takes us straight to the top, and from there, we just have to relax and enjoy the sights.

Singapore's most famous hotel (and likely the most expensive, I think rooms start from 400$ per night!), Marina Bay Sands, is perfectly observed from the top, as well as the iconic structures in the garden, and the top of the other supertrees.

Although some people prefer to stare at the phones (duh...), there's plenty to see from up there.
And if you want to continue to enjoy the view with a drink or a snack, a few stairs down a bar with a gorgeous view awaits, and at that level you can also circle all around the supertree.

There are even some nice sings with explanations about the supertrees and what you can see in the observatory.

After delighting with the view, since I still ahdn't had enough of the supertrees, off to experience number two: the skywalk!

The skywalk is a little over 100 meters, and connects two of the supertrees, giving you another chance to see the gardens from above, and admire the supertree's tops a little closer.

Is it worth it? Well, it's a fun experience, but can't say I was as thrilled as with the observatory. But if you have the time and are willing to spend a few extra dollars... why not? One thing is certain, seeing the supertrees up close is a must.
But wait, there's more! Apart from all the ecological benefits of the trees and the views by day... they're just as awesome by night!

From what I learned, there are usually thematic light shows every night, at determined hours. So they're not just providing some light, there's a whole show toghether with sound, that lasts for a few minutes! Check this link to see which events are coming. The cherry on top? They're completely free! You just have to go, pick a spot, and enjoy the show! Do go early though, because the best spots fill up pretty quickly!

Gardens by the Bay and its Supertrees are a must see by day... and by night!
