What a remarkable feat of engineering. It is amazing what marvels were built in the past and today we just get blocks of beton in the minamalism style. Hopefully I can see some of the great sights of Hamburg in a couple of months too.

Yes, somehow beauty was still associated with usefulness back then.
When I think of Michelangelo and the like, who made beautiful things hundreds of years ago without excavators and electricity, I can only wonder what people are capable of today.
