Just some random snaps of rural life on the roads around Bogura, unplanned stopping on the side of the road, a great way to see people, get the lens out and snap away.

Growing rice

Even sturdier

Known as paddy fields the term derives from the Indonesian word "padi" which in itself means "rice plant". Now it all makes sense.

rural4.jpeg

The fields are divided into plots and enclosed by small earthen banks which are then flooded with water

 Manpower

When the plant seedlings are between 3 to 7 weeks old they are transplanted to the flooded paddy field.

Growing rice requires one shit load of water to thrive. Hence, growing rice in water rather than land is the best option. Crucially for the plant to grow paddy fields keep the levels constant, and such a habitat is unsuitable for the growth of invasive weeds and pests

Growing sausages

Excuse me as I slobber! After a Macadees, pork sausages are the comfort food of my world, I can eat them anytime of the day, on a bread bun as a little snacklet, or with mash and onion gravy or chips egg and beans as a feast fit for a king.

Pigs in rural Bangladesh, are in the main grown by the Dalits in society, one of the lowest if not the lowest of the still existent and abhorrent caste system. Often known as the cobbler community they are seen as untouchables, living in their own communities deprived of decent housing sanitation and welfare.
Hello 21st Сentury.

Pig growing for these communities is an option due to limited access to cultivable land, for as we know pigs will eat anything they can get their snouts into.

Winston Churchill, once commented "Dogs look up to you, cats look down on you. Give me a pig. He just looks you in the eye and treats you as an equal."

Growing houses

Brick making industry here is thriving, a rapid and sustained growth in urban expansion and construction, the industry employs over a million people.

rural9.jpeg

Here are a few bricks and a few people who make them

rural12.jpeg

Amazing when a bunch of westerners pull up the inquisitive nature takes over and we were warmly greeted and surrounded by some of the workers, a welcome break for them from the monotonous labouring this industry places upon them

rural11.jpeg

Got to be the brightest orange hair in the world ever

Not growing anything

Homestay. You wont see this on trip advisor!

Journey's end, time to hit the sack been a long day, a memorable day, a day to remember, a day to savour. I just wish I could wake up to a sausage sandwich

Really nice captures. Thank you for sharing!

Cheers @vaynard86 thank you

This place still looks very natural, especially in the rice field area,a lot of work was done manually, you have managed to capture every beautiful moment very well.
It's really amazing have a nice day my friend

Thank you @riyat , have a great week ahead

I hope you are enjoying your visit so far in our country. I really liked your photography. You captured them beautifully. The rural side of our country is so beautiful. Moreover, it is pollution free. 😊❤️

pork sausages are the comfort food of my world

Oh yes I can so relate.
What do they do with the pigs?

Amazing when a bunch of westerners pull up the inquisitive nature takes over and we were warmly greeted and surrounded

In all the countries I worked in or visited this was usually the case. Always great when you actually went in amongst the locals. Superb reflection of life there through your photographs and I loved the info on padi fields. I never actually knew why the water, but just knew they were always grown in water. I always worried about snakes in there, so never walked in one.

Winston Churchill had some amazing sayings and comments... this one is fluffing awesome! ...

"Dogs look up to you, cats look down on you. Give me a pig. He just looks you in the eye and treats you as an equal."

That orange hair, he looks like he got Tangoed!

Yup sausage , with bacon of course, perfect comfort food. I guess if their religion doesn’t forbid it (fuck ,they don’t know what they are missing) the pigs get eaten. I am not a fan of Churchill, but that phrase has stuck with me for years
