So the "historic" Juma Mosque of Shamakhi beckoned it is said to be the oldest in Azerbaijan.

Built in 8th century....rebuilt in the 12th century.....rebuilt in the 18th century.....rebuilt in 1902.....and finally in 2010.
Hardly fucking old then is it?

"The Juma Mosque of Shamakh was built in 743. It was severely damaged by earthquakes in 1859 and 1902, and again during the Armenian Genocide of 1918 when Armenian nationalists set it on fire. Extensive restoration was carried out in accordance with President Aliyev’s decree between 2010 and 2013."

These rusty old architectural elements would look better with clematis or sweet peas growing on them

As far as see it the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan is deep rooted from history, a claim of genocide by Az a proven genocide suffered by Armenia. I believe I shall take the Armenian view, their schools do not preach and brainwash the children to hate as do the Azerbaijanis

After following us inside the once attentive caretaker, now knowing we were not here for nefarious reasons, took a nap.

Inside this place was wonderful as it was nicely cold , a welcome relief from the heat outside

I wonder if they have a ride on Dyson or an army of those AI robots to hoover this place

Lotys of fairy stories here

An ornate Mihrab, the focal point for them that prey, if points towards mecca.

A stunning bush with a splendid red bloom

and some straggly ones that need a prune.
There is nothing worse than an unkempt bush!
