Good evening, my friends, this time I am back again in this extraordinary community to share some pictures of a few days ago when my friends and I went to Bireuen city at night to witness one of the city's festivities on its 26th anniversary.
As I mentioned above, a few days ago I visited Bireuen at night to witness the city's 26th anniversary celebrations, which were more lively than in previous years.
For Bireuen Regency's 26th anniversary, the Bireuen Regency government held a series of busy and meaningful activities involving various elements of society, government agencies, educational institutions, artists, and local communities.
But tonight, I'll share some images from my evening visit there to watch a concert headlined by renowned Acehnese artist Rafli Kande.
Bireuen is a regency in the Indonesian province of Aceh. Its capital is Bireuen. It has been an autonomous region since October 12, 1999, after being split off from North Aceh Regency. Furthermore, this regency is known as the "city of struggle" (Kota Juang) due to its role as a major stronghold of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) during the civil war several years ago.
These are some images I captured during my visit to a coastal tourist destination in the city a few days ago. I want to share them with this community so that I can give you a glimpse of the city's beauty during the day.
Bireuen Regency is also located on the Banda Aceh-Medan route, flanked by three regencies, making Bireuen a thriving transit area. The image above shows a miniature Monas monument, a popular attraction for local residents. At night, it becomes a miniature park filled with people.
Bireuen Regency is also famous for its bananas, with almost all the bananas traded in Aceh coming from Bireuen. Furthermore, the local population is mostly farmers. Therefore, when you visit Bireuen, you'll see the city's unique beauty. Surrounding the city are vast expanses of rice fields owned by the local community. These rice fields can even be seen alongside the main road, which serves as a national highway.

Later that evening, I went to Cot Gapu Field, where the 26th anniversary of Bireuen was being celebrated. The evening's festivities were enlivened by renowned Acehnese artist Rafli Kande. The Bireuen anniversary celebrations were packaged as a cultural week, lasting six days, from October 7 to 12, 2025.
The series of events began on Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025, with the opening ceremony, which also marked a significant moment in Bireuen's history: the inauguration of the Bireuen Struggle Museum. My friends and I personally attended the event on the final night, which was themed "Suarasa Rapai" (rapai festival), involving 17 districts in Bireuen. Several artists, including Rafli Kande, as mentioned above, also performed.
These are some of the images I captured while watching the concert, which was attended by a large crowd of onlookers watching the closing ceremony.
Not only that, but there are also exhibitions there, in addition to the arts and culture appreciation stage, which is also a special attraction. This night market also offers several entertainment destinations for the public. This is supported by the very large area where Bireuen's 26th anniversary celebrations are held. The night market also hosts various events, including on-the-spot photo and TikTok video competitions, a tourist photo contest, workshops and art showcase exhibitions involving local artists and students.
These are some images I captured, showing several play areas for young children, making it perfect for families visiting this place together. There are also several drawing games for young children.
After we felt we'd had enough of the festivities, we took some time to enjoy Bireuen's signature drink, boh manok weng pineng nyen. From there, we saw that the events held to commemorate this anniversary, such as exhibitions and cultural weeks, can stimulate economic activity among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This was evident in the presence of numerous MSME booths that enlivened the activities.
These activities can also serve as promotional opportunities for tourism and Bireuen's unique products, as we enjoyed them, which have the potential to attract investment and increase regional income in the long term.
My friends...
This year's series of events is not only a form of entertainment and celebration but also a crucial opportunity to strengthen cultural identity, strengthen togetherness, and encourage active community participation in regional development. This event serves as a symbolic ritual and reflection of Bireuen Regency's long history of developing the region and its people.
Okay, friends, those are some of the images I'm sharing at this meeting. See you at your next meeting.
