There are several cheaper tools available now to make our house more secure. There are smart devices that can help us out with this purpose. The first and foremost thing that comes to my mind when it comes to security is the camera installation. Today almost every shop or every business has a camera setup. This awareness is spread even to the big size buildings because it is very important. It is important because there is a fear created if there is a camera. People who are doing wrong things can get caught if there is a camera.
Apart from cameras, other things can increase home security. The basic thing is awareness about how to stay safe. There have been several chain-snatching cases in the past. Even in our area, they illegally enter the house trying to steal something. Dogs also help to some extent in protecting from danger. Some known dogs do not allow people to do wrong things during the night time. Especially when there are strangers they become furious and they don't allow them to do anything during the night time. Some awareness is also required of people in the house to keep them up to date on the security aspects.
Surveillance camera
Today camera is available for a very cheap price and mostly it is also affordable for almost everything. As the internet is also very cheap, people can keep the recorded videos in the camera itself on a memory card and stream them from any location. The camera has to be connected to the internet for this to happen which is not a big deal anyways. Today we have wifi coverage almost everywhere in the house making it comfortable to use.
Some innovative projects can be done where older phone cameras can be used for this purpose. People are already exploring this option but this can end up as a cheaper solution if we are successful. I would even say that old phones can be recycled for this purpose.
Risks associated with security devices
There is also a small risk associated with smart devices. People can easily remove the power connection to the smart devices and unlock them. This happened in one of the flats near my house where someone who wanted to enter the building cut off the supply to the security system and got access to all the doors. It was a very simple thing. After this incident, they started saying that all these fancy things were useless and it is better to switch to manual locks.
