My husband and I recently started a new project in our backyard- a small piggery. This is something we have been planning for a while, and now we are excited to see it taking shape.
Before building the piggery, we first bought all the needed materials from the hardware store. We wanted the pig house to be strong and clean for the pigs to live comfortably.
We cleaned the whole area where the piggery would be built, removing dirt, weeds and anything that could get in the way.
Once the area was ready, we purchased for piglets, each costing 4,500.00. We also bought one female pig that we plan to raise as our future sow. This will help us breed piglets in the future, which means we can expand our piggery without buying new pigs all the time.
The main purpose of this project is both for extra income and for leisure. Raising pigs is something we enjoy doing as a family. My child is the one who always feeds them, which teaches responsibility and care for animals. It also gives us a nice bonding time together.
We used part of the profit from our last harvest in rice farm to fund this piggery. Instead of spending the money quickly, we decided to invest it in something that could give us more returns in the future. This way, our hard work in the last harvest will continue to grow into something more valuable.
For now, our focus is more than just a business - It’s a family project that brings us closer together. It gives us something meaningful to do in our free time and it teaches our child the importance of hard work, patience and responsibility.

We are excited to see how this project will grow, and we hope it becomes a lasting part of our family’s livelihood. Thank you for reading my story. ❤️
