This week's ZAPFIC Monday challenge centers around the prompt "skeleton" and presented the opportunity to expound on the word that I know to suggest a shortage or a bare minimum. Individuals who practice a minimalist lifestyle as I do can be said to "get by" or "make do" with a simple or less cluttered approach to living. It can also be said to operate with the least amount of assistance in other aspects of their lives. The ability to handle one's affairs with the least amount of resources is seen as industrious. I share a flash fiction story that relates to the scarcity of an item in a dire situation.

My story is below:
On the dock, blinding rain pelted O'Leary. He flung his gear onto the stern.
From behind, an unfamiliar voice shouted.
Setting sail with a skeleton crew wasn't ideal, but no first mate wanted to ride the storm.
"Let's cast off," he ordered.
