I've resided in both rural and urban environments. As a child, I believed that life would be better if my parents would only move to the city where all the fun and action was located. Once we moved to a larger town, I came to realize that the same problems I encountered in the country was more prevalent in the city. It doesn't matter your location, it's your attitude and circumstances. That's not to say that all things will change for the better or worse. They depend on the situation one is facing and the opportunities and resources available to handle them.
For this week's ZAPFIC Monday challenge, the prompt "city" presented the opportunity for me to explore my own attitude and preference for one or the other. I share a flash fiction story along those lines. The ZAPFICMonday challenge was created by @felt.buzz and consists of a story told in 240 characters or less. My story is below:
On a lazy Sunday evening, Ed proposed, then "we'll move to the city soon."
Stunned, Lea rebuked, "your problem won't disappear by changing location?"
"Stressors will."
"I won't run, but will stay and help slay your demon."

He vivido tanto en entornos rurales como urbanos. De niño, creía que la vida sería mejor si mis padres se mudaran a la ciudad, donde se concentraba toda la diversión y la actividad. Una vez que nos mudamos a una ciudad más grande, me di cuenta de que los mismos problemas con los que me encontraba en el campo eran aún más frecuentes en la ciudad. No importa dónde te encuentres, lo que importa es tu actitud y tus circunstancias. Eso no quiere decir que todo vaya a cambiar para mejor o para peor. Depende de la situación a la que uno se enfrente y de las oportunidades y recursos disponibles para afrontarla.
