Janet came back home all soaked by the rain. It rained for hours that evening. The weather forecast said it will rain but nobody knows it will be all that heavy. Many parts of the city centre were flooded with those living in the low lands running th risk of being submerged by the rising flood.
Cars were stuck on the road as their owners abandoned them to look for safe places before things get out of hands. Many trees were uprooted and other submerged in the ensuing flood. Could this be the adverse effects of the weather....climate change, Janet reasoned.
Now at home she changed her clothes and had a hot bath to keep herself warm. Thereafter she changed into some warm evening wears. The media was awash with the destructions done by the torrential rains. It had not rained like that for years now.
Most reports that the major waterways were blocked by the road contractors who were working on dualizing the roads. Now everyone is suffering it all.
But kudos to the government. They swung into action and started draining it once the rains subsided. In the morning not much of it was remaining and once the sun came out it also helped to dry up the remaining ones.
