Most major roads in the metropolis have a railway crossing. Each time a train is driving by the railroads are closed. But you will also see some motorists and cyclists struggling to beat the closure. That was the case with Mark, a dispatch rider.
It was a busy weekend in the terminal. Most people were going home for the annual general meetings of their various towns. The train stations was busy as ever.
The major road leading to the ever busy Kwanza market was closed every now and then to allow trains make their way across. Mark who was moving quickly to dispatch his orders and return to base decided to play a kungfu with his bike. Despite early signs placed across the road he was determined to scaled through the blockade.
Unfortunately for him the train was very close too. And the unexpected happened. He was caught by the train and crushed. People rushed to tht scene and attempted to save his life. He could not make it as he was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.
His death sent shock waves across the town because he was known for his dedication and prompt dispatch. His dispatch company honoured him by naming their corporate building after him.
The railway authority took about a week to sensitise people against risking their lives attempting to cross the signs when placed to warn against an oncoming train.
