Having enjoyed power for over a decade, the President of the Luz Rodriguez Hernandez refused to step down from the forthcoming election. He has in essence amended the constitution to enable him run the fourth time. This action baffled everyone including his party men but no one cares speak up. Otherwise the fellow will be eliminated.
The government of President Rodriguez Hernandez intensified it's crackdown on any perceived opposition. He wants to coast to 'victory' without putting up an electoral fight for it. He has done that for about three decades now. Each of his election he usually wins with a landslide. People know that it is not their popular choice. But no one cares speak out.
There is however this certain critic. Nobody knows what gave him the courage to be criticizing the national government of President Rodriguez Hernandez. This critic by name Diego has been arrested on several occasions and beaten up by the police. Yet, he refused to tune down his criticisms.
The last time he was arrested he protested seriously that he 'I do not belong ' to the opposition. This passionate plea fell on deaf ears as the security forces charged him to court for sedition.
His subsequent trial was hurriedly done. That was even an electronic year. At the end he was convicted and sentenced to thirty years in prison! Diego did not show any signs of remorse after the Judge pronounced his sentence. He knows that his trial and fate had already been predetermined by the presidency.
The world powers were watching events closely in Luz. They decided to strike by imposing severe sanctions asking President Rodriguez Hernandez to grant amnesty to Diego and release him. Reluctantly he did so and Diego was granted an asylum in one of the foreign countries.
