Diego started boxing as early as eleven. It is said that his family is known for producing resilient boxers. So it is not surprising seeing him take to boxing at that early age.
Boxing like every other combat sports has its own ups and downs. There was this competition which he got enrolled by his school. He was already a champion of his boxing category within his county. So all eyes was on him to shine.
But young Diego was throwing some punches amiss. His opponent had mastered his tactics well ahead of time and he defended well. Young Diego lost. That loss was painful and memorable too. He lost some teeth in the fight. Young Diego was therefore not spared with the downs of boxing.
After the fight his school took him for rehab and medical examination for young Diego was devastated by that loss. The dentist provided Diego with false teeth which was polished with some golden colours. Diego had no choice but to wear them all.
Then there is also the added responsibility of taking care of them. His parents did a nice job in that regard. Always attending to tht false teeth and even visiting the dentist regularly for routine checks.
Diego was not deterred from boxing having suffered those misfortunes. He kept on boxing and even winning some laurels too. It I said that whenever it becomes difficult for him during a boxing fight he shines his false teeth for luck and most times it works for him.
Till date Diego wears them. The false teeth reminds him of his early travails in the world of boxing.
