Era un domingo en la noche y todos los animales estaban en sus casas, el viejo conejo terminando de cenar su zanahoria, la ardilla guardando nueces en la alacena y el zorro descansando porque al día siguiente había que trabajar.
De repente, la lechuza, que vivía en el árbol más alto, envió un mensaje urgente a todos, “El zorrillo se ha desmayado, no se mueve, necesito ayuda para llegar al hospital del río para que lo atiendan ¡por favor alguien ayúdenos rápido!”.
27 animales vieron el mensaje pero ninguno respondió.
No porque fueran de mal corazón, sino porque cada uno siguió en lo suyo, como si no fuera con ellos, pensando “seguro alguien más lo hará”.
Al día siguiente, los mensajes en el bosque volvieron a ser memes y conversaciones sobre quién había encontrado la mejor comida o sobre la luna brillante de la noche anterior.
Solo dos días después la tortuga preguntó, ¿y el zorrillo? ¿está bien?, la lechuza respondió, después de un largo rato y con mucha tristeza…
No llegó a tiempo.
Nadie más preguntó y desde ese momento hubo un silencio que hasta el día de hoy no ha podido olvidarse.
Y es que aunque nadie lo dijera, todos sabían que esa noche tuvieron la oportunidad de hacer algo, pero eligieron no hacer nada.
Es que hoy en día, cada uno está ocupado en su propia madriguera, olvidando que la verdadera amistad no se sostiene con memes sino con manos dispuestas y miradas que no esquivan.
