A few days ago, I was scrolling through my Facebook feed and saw a post from a classmate about an anime that was described as shocking and brutally graphic. I hadn't seen it when it was released because the animation didn't appeal to me, but after seeing the mostly positive reviews, I decided to give it a try, and I don't regret it. as it's the kind of anime that shows you that animation, cartoons, and all that stuff don't just mean that these stories are for kids, but that they can tackle raw and sensitive topics that are more suited to an adult audience. So, I couldn't pass up this chance to recommend it to you.
Takopi no Genzai (タコピーの原罪)…
Released in June 2025, with a total of 6 episodes, each of varying lengths—the first episode is over 30 minutes long, the second is 23 minutes long—there is no set time limit for each episode. Director Shinya Iino, who also wrote the script, together with the animation studio Enishiya, bring us the story of Taizan 5, a science fiction, horror, drama, and dystopian genre.
Another thing I should mention is that it is considered an ONA, due to its distribution method. ONA stands for “Original Net Animation.” This term is used to refer to an anime series or film that has been produced specifically to be released and distributed directly through streaming platforms or on the Internet, without going through traditional television or cinema. As for the plot…
The story centers on Nnu-Anu-Kf, a small octopus-like alien from Planet Happy who comes to Earth with a mission to spread happiness. After some events that put him in danger, he was saved by a little girl named Shizuka, who later gave him the name Takopi. The two struck up a friendship, despite the deep sadness she exuded.
Takopi begins to show her some happy artifacts from his planet, but she is not interested, as her environment is filled with bullying, abandonment by her father, and neglect by her mother. The only thing she considers happy is her little dog, Chappy. After a few days with her, trying to make her happy, something happened that our little boy didn't think would happen: the little girl arrived all beaten up and wearing Chappy's collar, but without the dog.
Takopi shows her one of his artifacts, the ribbon of reconciliation, claiming that if she and her friend (the bully) used it, their friendship would be restored. However, she just asks him for the ribbon, with a blank look on her face. At first, he doesn't want to give it to her, because he has to be present when these tools are used, but when she insists and he sees the state she is in, he agrees. Our little alien, worried that she wasn't coming back, went to her house, where he sadly found her dead, as she had committed suicide with the ribbon of reconciliation.
Takopi feels guilty, but remembers that before this event, they had taken a photo with the happy camera, which allowed him to return to that moment in the photo, that is, he could return to the past. Desperate to change that event, he sets out to make little Shizuka happy by turning back time. Despite his good intentions, the alien will face the reality that actions have consequences, most of them painful. Will our Takopi be able to make his friend Shizuka happy? What consequences does each of his decisions bring? Is there something else we don't know about this journey back in time?
Personal opinion
This anime felt like a roller coaster ride to me, with different emotions intertwining as the episodes progressed and the incredible way each one ended, with unexpected surprises and raw, painful actions that make you realize that the sweetness shown in the opening and ending is just a superficial mask for everything the story brings with it. The way it tackles issues such as bullying, child abuse, suicide, and mental health in a way that doesn't shy away from any details, and even more so, does so from the perspective of an innocent being who is unaware of all this and who learns that each person chooses their own path, even if it leads them to evil, where even he himself sees how his actions end up harming others.
I really identified with the topic of bullying, because people picked on me for my size, as I have always been small and cried about everything. which eventually made me hate being small. Still, with the support of people who nurtured me and my dogs, I started to ignore negative comments and value myself for who I am, both physically and emotionally, while trying to improve aspects of myself that weren't working well. I am telling you this because I made that decision, but in this story, the protagonist makes other decisions, some worse than others, and that is because she lacked someone to guide and accompany her better, something that Takopi could not do at first. What makes this work exquisite is that it also reflects the mental states of its characters and how the environment greatly influences children and their future.
It's like when they say that if a child is violent, it's because there's a hostile environment at home, and here, they take an introspective journey into this, into how the family group is key to a child's upbringing. Of course, there are cases where, unfortunately, even with the support and love of their parents, children still go down the wrong path. What I'm getting at is that this story is very realistic and doesn't turn a blind eye to mental health. It's raw in its maximum splendor, and there's no room for kindness in it, only a being who is unaware of it and doesn't know that it was evil that he did, which is understandable, since he had never been involved in anything like this before. Some may not find it appealing because of the human horror and tragedies it presents, but these types of works are the ones you empathize with the most. They deal with common issues that are not openly discussed. It's like it's saying, “Hey, this happens every day. Let's not turn a blind eye to these facts.”

Something I didn't like about the ending, even though it hurt me to see Takopi sacrifice himself, was the fact that Marina (the bully) and Shizuka (the victim) became friends. I think it's good that there were no more conflicts between friends, but my problem lies in becoming friends with someone who made you suffer so much. It's one thing not to hold a grudge, but it's another to minimize all the pain you went through. In short, the issue of forgiveness and overcoming trauma was not addressed very well.
Positive points…
-Emotional impact with raw and profound themes.
-Chapters that draw you in, as well as being well distributed in terms of time.
-Complex and enigmatic characters with very realistic backgrounds.
-Although the animation is not entirely to my liking, the moments of tension are portrayed very well, in keeping with the tense and melancholic atmosphere that the plot conveys.
Negative points…
-A better developed ending (something was missing).
-For some, it can be very cruel and emotionally draining.
-Better development of other characters.

I was quite surprised by this story. I can't say that I liked it in the sense of enjoying it a million times, because it has its harshness and deep-rooted melancholy. However, it is commendable how it tackles difficult and shocking issues with visuals that envelop you in them, in that cycle of pain that seems endless. Takopi is undoubtedly a reflection of life itself, of real problems that are often censored; it is an anime with a powerful narrative.

Estuvo hace unos días, rondando por mi feed de Facebook y el estado de un compañero de estudio, un anime que catalogaban de impactante y brutalmente gráfico. No lo había visto en su momento de ser lanzado, porque la animación no me llamaba, sin embargo, por las críticas que constantemente veía de este, en su mayoría positivas, decidí darle una oportunidad, en el cual no me arrepiento, ya que es ese tipo de anime que te pone en evidencia que la animación, las caricaturas y todo ello, no solo ponen en manifiesto que esas historias deben ser para un público infantil, sino que llegan abordar temas crudos y sensibles, aptos para una audiencia más adulta, por lo que no podía dejar pasar esta oportunidad para recomendárselos.

Estrenado en junio del 2025, con un total de 6 episodios, sin una duración fija en cada uno, es decir, el primero dura más de 30 minutos, el segundo 23 min; no tiene un límite en cada tiempo del episodio programado. El director Shinya Iino, mismo que hizo el guion, junto al estudio de animación Enishiya, nos traen la historia de Taizan 5, de genero ciencia ficción, terror, drama y distópico.
Otro dato que debo acotar, es que es considerado un ONA, y esto se debe a su método de distribución; ONA son las siglas de "Original Net Animation" o, en español, "Animación Original para la Red". Este término se utiliza para referirse a una serie o película de anime que ha sido producida específicamente para ser lanzada y distribuida directamente a través de plataformas de streaming o en Internet, sin pasar por la televisión tradicional o el cine. En cuanto a la trama…
La historia se centra en Nnu-Anu-Kf, un pequeño extraterrestre con apariencia de pulpo que proviene del Planeta Happy, quien viene a la tierra con la misión de repartir felicidad. Tras unos sucesos que lo pusieron en peligro, fue salvado por una pequeña niña llamada Shizuka, quien más adelante, la niña le da el nombre de Takopi; estos dos entabla una amistad, a pesar de la tristeza profunda que ella emanaba.
Takopi le comienza a mostrar unos artefactos felices de su planeta, sin embargo, ella no le interesaba, pues su entorno estaba envuelto en acoso escolar, abandono de su padre y su madre no estaba al pendiente, a lo que ella solo consideraba feliz era a su perrito Chappy. Tras unos días con ella y querer hacerla feliz, sucede algo que no pensaba nuestro pequeño que pasaría; la pequeña llega toda golpeada y con el collar de Chappy, pero sin el perrito.
Takopi le enseña una de sus artefactos, la cinta de la reconciliación, alegando que si ella y su amiga (la acosadora) lo usaban, su amistad volvería, no obstante, ella solo le pide la cinta, con la mirada en blanco, al principio no quería dársela, pues el tiene que estar presente al momento de usarse esas herramientas, pero al ella insistir y ver el estado en el que se encontraba, accede. Nuestro pequeño extraterrestre preocupado de que no regresaba, fue a su casa, donde lamentablemente la consigue muerta, pues se había suicidado con la cinta de la reconciliación.
Takopi se siente culpable, pero recuerda que antes de este suceso, se habían tomado una foto con la cámara feliz, misma que le permitía regresar a ese momento de la foto, es decir, podía regresar al pasado. Desesperado por cambiar ese acontecimiento, se propone hacer feliz a la pequeña Shizuka regresando el tiempo, a pesar de sus buenas intenciones, el extraterrestre se enfrentará a la realidad de que las acciones tienen sus consecuencias, en su mayoría dolorosas ¿Será capaz nuestro Takopi de hacer feliz a su amiga Shizuka? ¿Qué consecuencias son las que trae cada decisión de él? ¿Hay algo más que no sabemos de este retroceso en el tiempo?
Opinión personal
Este anime lo sentí como una montaña rusa, distintas emociones se entrecruzaban a medida que pasaba los capítulos y lo increíble en como terminaba cada uno, sorpresas inesperadas, acciones crudas y doloras que te hace ver que lo dulce que se muestra el opening y el ending, es solo una mascara superficial a todo lo que la historia trae consigo. El cómo toca temas como el bullying, el abuso infantil, el suicidio y la salud mental de una manera en el que no se escapa de ningún detalle y más aún, que lo hace desde la perspectiva de un ser inocente, que desconoce de todo ello y que va aprendiendo que cada persona elige su camino, aun si este lo lleva al mal, donde incluso el mismo, ve como sus acciones llegan a perjudicar al otro.
El tema de bullying, yo me sentí super identificada, porque se metían conmigo por mi tamaña, pues siempre he sido de estatura pequeña y que lloraba por todo, esto a la larga hizo que odiara ser pequeña, aun así, con personas que fueron nutriéndome bien y mis perritos, empecé a ser caso omiso a comentarios negativos y a valorarme por como soy tanto física como emocionalmente, claro está, tratando de mejorar aspectos que no hacían algo bien en mí. Porque les hablo de esto, es que, yo tomé esa decisión, pero en esta historia, la protagonista toma otras decisiones, unas peores con las otras y eso es debido a que, le faltaba alguien que la guiara y acompañara mejor, algo que Takopi en un inicio no podía y lo que la vuelve exquisita esta obra, refleja también los estados mentales de sus personajes y como el entorno influye mucho en los niños y el futuro de ellos mismos.
Es como cuando dicen, si el niño es violento es porque en su casa hay un ambiente hostil y aquí, hacen un viaje introspectivo hacia esto, de cómo el grupo familiar es la clave para la formación de un niño, claro está, hay casos que lamentablemente, aun con el apoyo y el amor de sus padres, igual se van por el mal camino. A lo que quiero llegar es que, esta historia es muy realistas y no hace vista gorda a lo que la salud mental, es cruda en su máximo esplendor y no hay cavidad para la bondad en ella, solamente un ser que desconoce de ello y no sabe que fue el mal que hizo y es entendible, pues nunca se había visto envuelto en algo así; pueden que algunos no la encuentre atractiva por el horror humano y las tragedias que se presentan, sin embargo, este estilo de obras son con las que llegas a empatizar más, son temas frecuentes y que no se debaten de modo abierto, es como que te dice, hey esto sucede todos los días, no seamos ciegos ante estos hechos.

Algo que no me gustó del final, a pesar de que me dolió como Takopi se sacrificara, el hecho de Marina (la acosadora) y Shizuka (la acosada) fueran amigas, me parece bien que ya no había conflictos entre amigas, pero mi problema radica en hacerse amiga de quien te hizo sufrir mucho, una cosa es no guardar resentimientos, otra es como que minimices todo el dolor que pasaron; en pocas palabras, no fue abordado muy bien el tema del perdón y superación.
Puntos positivos…
-Impacto emocional con temas crudos y profundos.
-Capítulos que te atrapan, además de lo bien distribuidos en tiempo.
-Personajes complejos y enigmáticos, con trasfondos muy realistas.
-A pesar de que la animación no es mi agrado total, los momentos de tensión son retratados muy bien, acordes a esa atmosfera tensa y melancólica que la trama está transmitiendo.
Puntos negativos…
-Un final mejor desarrollado (algo le falto).
-Para algunos puede ser muy cruel y pesada emocionalmente.
-Mejor desarrollos en otros personajes.

Me sorprendió bastante esta historia, no puedo decir que me gusto, en el sentido de disfrutarlo un millón de veces, porque si tiene su crudeza y melancolía arraigada, sin embargo, es apreciable el cómo aborda temas difíciles e impactantes, con una visual que te envuelve en ellos, en ese ciclo de dolor que pareciera interminable. Takopi es sin duda alguna, el reflejo de la vida misma, de problemas reales y que, muchas veces censuran; es un anime con una narración potente.
