Hello, anime fans!
I hope you’re all doing well. I’d like to give you a top recommendation for an anime that my friend @melan11e suggested to me and that I absolutely loved; every episode was incredible and left me eagerly awaiting the next season. This anime is called: Tengoku Daimakyo.
The story is told from two perspectives: the outside and the inside. On the ‘outer’ outside, years have passed since a disaster that wiped out civilisation. This disaster involved a series of deformed, man-eating monsters called Hirukos.
It is there that we meet Maru, a young man with the ability to ‘enter’ these monsters and kill them by crushing their ‘hearts’; alongside him is Kiruko, a young woman who acts as Maru’s bodyguard. Both are searching for a place called “paradise” and a person who looks like Maru. On their quest, they face monsters whilst unravelling the secrets of that world and their own traumas.
On the other hand, there is the “inside”, where a group of children and teenagers live in an institution isolated from the outside world, watched over and controlled by adults. Although the institution initially seems like a normal place, as the episodes unfold, a disturbing truth is revealed about these children and the adults who manage them. Among these children is Tokio, who, in the middle of an exam, receives a message that read: Do you want to go outside?
I’ll be honest, from the moment I started watching the anime I felt an unsettling atmosphere, even though the story wasn’t particularly graphic or gory—a fact I mentioned to @melan11e, who simply told me: ‘keep watching’. And the more I watched, the crazier it got; in every episode there are clues that give you an idea of what’s going on, but as something new is revealed in every episode, it all gets bigger and bigger.
In this post-apocalyptic anime, as well as being about survival, action and mystery, it touches on themes such as identity and gender, in a world where children grow up alone and can be easy prey to human evil. This is seen mainly in the character of Kiruko, where the reason for her conflict is quite complex and murky.
As for the high school teenagers, there are complex themes such as emotional awakening and their sexuality. All this whilst they are being manipulated by scientists and gradually reveal distinct physical characteristics and abilities, including the ability to see the future. It is worth noting that the story of Maru and Kiruko is intertwined with that of the high school students.
All in all, it’s a really good survival anime, packed with action, mystery and psychological depth that builds as the plot unfolds. And seriously, things get crazier and more unsettling as the story progresses and the truth about what’s really going on—and the future of certain characters—is gradually revealed. This first season has 13 episodes and ends on a massive cliffhanger, so I’m hoping they’ll release a second season.
I really liked the visual style, with its monstrous creatures, carefully crafted atmosphere, introspective tone and excellent fight sequences.

Espero que se encuentren bien. Les quiero hacer una superrecomendación de un anime que mi amiga @melan11e me recomendó y que me encantó; cada capítulo fue increíble y me dejó con ganas de la siguiente temporada. Este anime se llama: Tengoku Daimakyo.
La historia se divide en dos perspectivas: afuera y adentro. En el afuera “exterior” han pasado años desde un desastre que acabó con la civilización. Este desastre fue una serie de monstruos deformes y devoradores de humanos llamados Hirukos.
Es ahí donde conocemos a Maru, un chico joven con la habilidad de poder “meterse” en estos monstruos y matarlos, aplastando su “corazón”; junto a él está Kiruko, una joven que hace de guardaespaldas de Maru.Ambos buscan un lugar llamado el “paraíso” y una persona que se vea como Maru. En su búsqueda se enfrentan a monstruos mientras van desentrañando los secretos de ese mundo y sus propios traumas.
Por otro lado está el “adentro”, donde un grupo de niños y adolescentes vive en una institución aislada del mundo exterior, vigilados y controlados por adultos. Aunque la institución en un inicio parezca un sitio normal, a medida que pasan los episodios se va descubriendo una verdad inquietante sobre esos niños y los adultos que los manejan. Entre esos niños está Tokio, quien en medio de un examen recibe un mensaje que decía: ¿Quieres salir al exterior?
Voy a ser sincera, desde que empecé a ver el anime sentí una atmósfera inquietante, aunque la historia no fuera tan gráfica o sangrienta, hecho que le comenté a @melan11e, quien solo me dijo: sigue viendo. Y mientras más veía, más loca era la cosa; en cada capítulo hay especies de pistas que dan una idea de lo que está pasando, pero como en cada capítulo se descubre algo nuevo, todo se hace cada vez más grande.
En este anime postapocalíptico, además de ser de supervivencia, acción y misterio, se tocan temas como la identidad y el género, en un mundo donde los niños crecen solos y pueden ser presa fácil de la maldad humana. Esto se ve principalmente en el personaje de Kiruko, donde la razón de su conflicto es bastante compleja y turbia.
En cuanto a los adolescentes del instituto, hay temas complejos como el despertar emocional y su sexualidad. Todo mientras son manipulados por científicos y van revelando características físicas y habilidades distintas, incluso la habilidad de ver el futuro. Cabe destacar que la historia de Maru y Kiruko se entrelaza con la de los niños del instituto.
En conjunto, es un anime de supervivencia muy bueno, con acción, misterio y matices psicológicos que va creciendo a medida que avanza la trama. Y es que enserio todo se pone más loco e inquietante a medida que avanza la historia y se va descubriendo la verdad sobre lo que realmente pasa y el futuro de ciertos personajes. El estilo visual me gustó mucho, con criaturas monstruosas, atmósfera cuidada, un tono introspectivo y secuencias de pelea muy buenas.
Está primera temporada tiene 13 episodios y queda con un tremendo final abierto, por lo que espero que saquen segunda temporada.
