Beginning the New Year

January is a good time to reflect on how my year has been and what I would do moving forward. It is an opportunity think about how I could be more positive and be mindful in an intentional way.

We are constantly bombarded by world news and events and we are continually exposed to marketing and manipulated to buy things that we don't really need.

We want to decide how to spend our time, our energy, our money, how we want to live our lives, and how we want to take care of ourselves so that we can be the best version of ourselves. We want to show up for people and the things we care about.

So I'll focus on being grateful! I'll focus on what I have and what is going well with my life, and what is beautiful in this world. I'll focus on the abundance and the blessings in my life, and celebrate the things that I am grateful for to build on the positivity even more.

Positivity creates more positivity! And gratitude is a never-ending source of positivity!

Interestingly enough, I just suggested to someone that they start a "Joy" book; a notebook where you list 3 things daily you are grateful for. Sounds like your plan is a spinoff of something similar. We are bombarded with so much negativity that it can become overwhelming at times! I think focusing on the positive or the joyful things, is a much better thing to pay attention to!

I have had one in the past, but not lately. I tend to try to stay and be positive-even when those around me are negative. Perhaps I might start one again or incorporate one into my devotionals.

It drives me crazy. The world has become nothing but a big marketing tool. Whatever you can experience, can be sold. I think a lot of us are in protest, changing how we live because of this. We know it's pure emptiness.

May our 2026 be used in the search for less - less stuff we don't need, less bullshit, less fluff.

Yeah... everything in life now feels like it’s being turned into something to sell - our experiences, hobbies, and identities. Many people feel that modern life is fake and empty, so they’re trying to live differently and reject all the constant selling and advertising. Everything is commercial now, and it feels hollow. People are pushing back.

It is beautiful to plant, to watch things grow, to give life, and just as we do it we understand the peace it brings us.

Two years ago, I began dedicating more time to my green corners, all stemming from a deep emotional crisis. While I struggled to make my plants thrive, they, in silence, slowly began healing me, and today I am a different person compared to the one who didn’t know plants… that’s why I still dedicate part of my time on HIVE to share them.
