A Rundown of what my yesterday was like.

in Hive Learnerslast year

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. Yesterday was Sunday, woke up quite early but with the feeling of not wanting to go to church so instead of making preparations I picked up my phone and was doing some stuff online then I remembered I was not in school anymore and deciding not to go to church means I will have to prepare for my Mom who will make it her anthem for the rest of the day. I rushed to join them for morning devotion and started preparation for church immediately after the devotion as it was supposed to be.

At around 9:30am, I was ready for service and we all headed out. I got to church and received a shocking news, It was mothering Sunday and no one told me. I got nothing for my mom, as I was not informed but I owe her that. The service had already commenced before our arrival, yesterday is a Sunday dedicated to women and mothers around the globe so every activity in the church was handled by women, the sermon, choir and even the work of ushers and they handled it very well.

Mothering Sundays are always special, it is on this day that mothers around the world are appreciated for all of their sacrifices. It is impossible to pay them back for all of their sacrifices but all we can do is show appreciation on days like this, let them know how special they are. One of my favorite artist said "nothing connects the world the way a loving mother does". Mothers are special, they deserve all the love they can get and even more.

The church service was fun, the mothers acted different playlets portraying the role of a mother in the house and lessons were learnt. The service ended at around 12pm, after service the women stood by the door and gave out zobo (Hibiscus sabdariffa tea) to those who wish to collect some. on our way home we stopped by a nearby market; dad said since it's mother's day let's get few drinks to celebrate with while we waited in the car him and mom stepped down to go buy the drinks, the sun wasn't taking it easy on us in the car while we waited. They took some time and finally they joined us and we zoomed off.

Got home at around 1pm and met a friend at at our doorstep, it's funny how he sat and was waiting like I told him I was on my way back, since my sister's did not cook before we left the house there was no need staying at home. I changed up and we left for his own house, we got to their house and food was ready to be served and I realized I made the best choice because I was already really hungry. They served us rice, it tasted really good.

At his place we played mini militia for sometime before we left for the fieid at 4pm to watch a football match between to nearby villages, the match ended 2:1. Normally we try to make Sundays less stressful as we prepare our minds for Monday and the the new week.

One remarkable thing about yesterday.

How fathers and children celebrated their wives and mothers yesterday made it obvious that we all see their good works and acknowledge their sacrifices, gifts were presented to mothers a lot of it.

Wow you celebrated mothers too yesterday? That's great.

I hope father's day will be better than this.lols

What a remarkable day you had yesterday.
No need to feel bad about forgetting mother's Day, I literally just found out after reading your post😅😅😭. I'm not sure my own mum even knew.

Looks like you had a lot of fun and ate well. Have a nice week ahead.

You must not forget to get something for your mom oo. In fact, I didn't know too until it was announced in the church. I guess I need to intensify in staying updated online 🙃 😆😆

It was mothering Sunday and no one told me. I got nothing for my mom...

When I saw EcoBank's message about Mother's Day I felt whoever was handling their mails must be high on some cheap drugs. Like, what's the odd of Women's Day and Mother's Day falling on the same week? I didn't take it serious.

When I found out it was indeed Mother's Day, I was ashamed of myself. So, you're not alone in not getting your mom a befitting gift.

What a perfect choice you made by living the house 😅.
But, it seems you missed the celebration at home too, I mean the drinks they bought or they kept some for you?

You even ate rice wow you're really the one who enjoyed the whole celebration 😁😁

I'm surprised that people still play mini militia till now, I used to play it a lot back in the day but since I tasted Call of Duty, I never went back 😅. Your Sunday was quite eventful, at least you got to hang out with your friend, not unlike some of us who spent the whole day at home

I'm guessing mothering Sunday is like Mother's Day here in Canada.

Father's day can be forgotten without issue. Mothers day you don't want to forget of you will hear about it in subtle ways for years to come.

Glad your day worked out ok :)
