A Life Of Purpose: Navigating Life With The Power Of Kindness

There are several moral codes across different countries and cultures. Each, serving significant purposes. Interestingly, moral codes vary from one culture to another. In some cultures, kindness may be highly valued, and those who exemplify this moral code are often rewarded, while in other countries, integrity might be the main talk of the town. It is important to note that valuing integrity in one country doesn't imply that kindness is viewed negatively elsewhere; rather, it highlights how certain moral codes hold greater importance in specific countries/cultures. Moral codes narrow down to diverse beliefs, cultures, and family upbringing.

In life, one of the most important responsibilities as parents is to teach children the right ways of living. Imparting in them the right moral codes is vital for their growth and development, as it trains and prepares them for the future. The family; mother, father, and older siblings, plays an important role in shaping the lives of children. They serve as a rock-solid foundation, showering support, care and guidance.

I grew up in the shed of my parents. Luckily, my parents were always there to teach me the ways of life- show me the ropes and teach me how to sieve the bad things and stick to the good ones. I spent most of my childhood with the woman who brought me to this world. My mother- an extraordinary woman loaded with so many moral codes. Among the many moral codes, one that has had a significant impact on my life is the power of kindness. This big and amazing part of my mom has been a source of inspiration for my siblings and I.

When I was little, I found this quite interesting. Truthfully, I found it annoying. My mom’s kindness is on another level. Even in the toughest times, she helped and showed compassion to those around her. A time that still lives fresh in my head was when I graduated from Junior class to senior class. Things were hard for my family. My dad’s business wasn’t going well. We had spent a lot on my sister’s schooling expenses. Still, when people came running to her for help, my mom offered the little she could. I got really angry when I found out that my mom helped a church member pay half of his school fees. I mean, we were really struggling at that time! I know that I shouldn’t have gotten angry, but I was young and ignorant.

As years went by, I realized that the power of kindness works like magic. Despite her selflessness and generosity, always willing to give her last coin to those in need, we never lacked. In fact, whenever we thought we were in financial soup, somehow, we would magically bounce back on our feet. Believe me, this works every time. The power of kindness works like magic, attracting blessings from all corners of the world.

I am forever grateful for the lessons I learnt from my parents, especially my mom. I always try as much as I can to emulate her kindness in my life. Permit me to share a short story that happened about a week ago. I had just completed my semester’s exams, which by the way almost suffocated. In fact, I died twice and resurrected the next morning. I spent a lot of money on something (which I’m not willing to share here). I had only a little in my account- feeding expenses that’d last for a week and transportation fare back to my parent’s place. One of my friends ran into an emergency and he needed money.

He rushed to my hostel around 6 am, explaining his tight situation. Sometimes, we find ourselves in tight situations. I knew I would feel like giving him the money, but I just closed my eyes and did it. Immediately, I sent my transportation fare to my friend to help me keep it because I wouldn’t want to spend it. I was left with nothing in my account. The only thing I had was rice. I sighed, went to the kitchen, and cooked rice that lasted me the whole day. The next day, I ate rice. On the third day, I came online and ranted about how I had been eating rice for two days straight. Surprisingly, one of my friends was online at that time, she saw the messages and sent me something huge. I tried to reject it several times. Find it hard to collect things from people. The person was so persistent. The power of kindness works like magic.

Thank God for the type of parents we had growing up, they played their part in our lives perfectly well.

I totally agree with you. I'm glad I grew up in my parents’ shed. They showered me with EVERYTHING.

Wow 😮. Mothers have a heart of gold that whenever people come to them for help, even while struggling they won't say "no" The word no is kind of hard for them to say. Glad you were able to grab that lesson from your mother.

Hello there, @young-tari . My sister is also like this. She finds it hard to say no.

A kind person never dies poor. These are some of the words I learned from many kind persons. No doubt, our parents helped us to shape what is more valuable and moral full. We should encode what is perfect for our kids and will help them in praising humanity.

Hello there, Aslam. You are right, man. A kind person never lacks. Parents should instill in their kids the right moral codes.

Thats very beautiful, kindness is something missing a lot during these days!

Sadly, not so many people are kind nowadays.
