IF I HAD SUPER POWER I WOULD HAVE STOPPED NATURAL DISASTERS...
Greetings to everyone and congratulations for making it to the last Friday in this beautiful month. Fortunately this is the third edition of the weekly engagement on this precious platform. The previous edition were quite amazing and awesome. When I saw the theme, I had to brainstorm and consult my beloved wife for more directives. Kudos to all the management and the participants out there.
In this post, I would share my perspective on the natural disasters that occurred in my country and if I had a vector power I would have changed the whole narrative. I would have made things better and more positive for the citizens at large. These disasters really affected everyone because commercial and subsistence activities were put to hold...guess what? Money was lost as well.
If I had the opportunity, I would have averted the flood that happened in the northern part of my beloved country Nigeria.
This ugly event really caused a set back in the state and the country at large. Borno state of Nigeria for a couple of years now has not experienced a devastating moment like this. It was quite unfortunate because no one knew that this would have happened according to the report I received. There some natural disaster that can be caused as a result of human negligence. It was said that the dam will be opened hence drainages needed to be cleared to avoid any obstruction. This was not properly done which made the water to find an alternative route which led to the flooding of the entire metropolis. If i had my power, i would have ensured that I worked closely with meteorologist, geographers and other necessary agents. This would have helped to reduce the intensity.
The state is known for her good commercial activities which attracts people for transactions across the parts of the nation. In addition, the state over time had the challenge with insecurity which brought fear in the lives of some people and restricted them from exploring other opportunities. At the middle of this year, there was a flood that came and swept out many things. Houses, shops and valuable were destroyed. No body thought such flood could occurred. You could imagine even the zoo and other government facilities were destroyed. I had the privilege to speak with one of my friend that was serving there. He narrated his own ordeal and I sympathized with him.
Today as I drop this post, the country hasn't recovered from such tragedy even though several organizations came with their various intervention yet it couldn't salvage totally the entire situation.
A similar case also occured in nasarawa state where i reside at a moment. The kind of rain disaster experienced was also bad. I was surprised to even see goat and other animals flying on top water. I don't know why some people are sometimes careless about where they live. What's the essence of the monthly sanitation? Now you can apparently seee the effect of negligence which has caused an untold hardship to the people.

If I had the opportunity, i will release a decree and constitute a serious task force to penalize any culprit that throws dirts anyhow in the environment.
Thanks for reading.
