So, it’s been a whole 100 weeks that the featured edition contests has been going on. It is not actually possible to not have things to say about the experience so far. The first community I ever posted in when I joined Hive was Hive learners. I didn’t exactly immediately start engaging in the contests, but I will tell you the reason shortly. It will perfectly fit in my misconceptions about the featured contests.

LESSONS I HAVE LEARNED DURING THE COURSE OF THE FEATURED EDITION CONTESTS

I have defined learned a lot through these contests, it would be weird not to. The first lesson would be the fact that ‘everybody can be creative’. Honestly, the contests have made me realize that there is a lot of creativity in all of us. You see, there are times I ponder over the topics given and think that I don’t have something to write about it. When I attempt it, I see my thought process getting clearer and better and before you know, I have even written more than the required 500 words. Through this, I have learned not to ever underestimate myself and that I can do anything I set my mind to achieve.

Another thing I have learned during the course of these contests is that ‘engagement is key’ and I like how we are all being encouraged to actively engage in each other’s posts. It actually makes a lot of sense to do that, because if we don’t, no body’s posts will ever be seen. We’ll all just keep posting and no one is going to actually know it exists. I am trying to do better in this regard, for real.

Another lesson I learned is that ‘this community is a learning ground’. I have been so amazed at the entries dropped by some people and I couldn’t be grateful enough that I am a part of this family. A lot of beautiful minds, sharing amazing contents, and influencing lives unknowingly. I think it is just very very beautiful, actually. I have learned a lot through people’s entires.

MISTAKES I HAVE MADE

The one mistake I have made and can remember vividly was when I didn’t make up to 500 words in my entry. I didn’t know it had be more than 500 words. It was @nkemakonam89 that called my attention to this and I was so grateful to her and did the needful. Moving forward, I never made that mistake again.

MISCONCEPTIONS I USED TO HAVE

So, this one tops the list for me, it was the one I promised to talk about earlier. So, when I joined Hive and knew hive learners as a community, I used to see different posts by different people, having similar topics and talking about similar things. I got to know they were contests while going through them, but where I got it wrong was where I thought that only some ‘special people’ could participate. I thought newbies like me wouldn’t be able to be a part of it.

I was so curious that I voiced out and asked @starstrings01 about this and he told me that the only thing I needed to do was to verify my identity and become a member. I was walked through the process by Olujay and I was able to join the contests when I was able to. Now, it has become one of my favorite things on hive and I always look forward to the next topics.

Shoutout to the team for always bringing up amazing topics and never running out of ideas.

Awwww, what a unique lesson you have learnt and what a way to learn from our mistakes. It's been a journey of learning and improving through the numerous topics we have thought about written about. These prompt helped sharpen my creativity for good. From a non writer to a person who have published more than 300 posts here. It can only get better
For your misconceptions, haha 😂, so funny..glad that star clarified you.

I hope we all keep buzzing here and soon we will celebrate more greater accomplishments
