There are many times we stereotype people based on situations or the positions they are or occupy but at the end we would surely end up being disappointed because their wealthy status or poor status in general does not determine their who you assume them to be.
Money can't bring out what is not in you before but can only enhance whatever that you have as an habit.
You would see some people say, it's because I live in an apartment where the bathroom is outside and that's why I don't have my bath twice a day but by the time they move to a better apartment that has a bathroom inside and even a bathtub, it will still be hard for them to have the bath twice a day because the problem does not lie with them not living in a good furnished apartment but the fact that they are not used to it.
Cleanliness and the act of being hygienic can happen irrespective of the availability of money though it can be enhanced by money to make it much better but money isn't the reason why there can be cleanliness.
I remember a time around 2016 that I was working on the Island in Lagos and on Friday evenings I would head back to the mainland. As soon as I close from work on Friday evenings before heading to the mainland, I make hair for some ladies to earn extra income before going home.
These ladies live in VGC o and not just an ordinary place on the Island but their rooms and compounds are so dirty and rough. The only tidy place in their apartments are the living rooms in case of a visitor probably.
We start to clear the place we want to sit in to make the hair whenever I'm around.
Then I begin to wonder, is it that they can't tidy up their space themselves at all even in the absence of their house help or what? But when you see them outside, they are angels on earth.
The only thing that got missed in such people's lifestyle is discipline and what they habour is a nonchalant attitude.
Nonchalant attitude will make you see something which is not in its normal place and still overlook it till someone else picks it up from there.
It will make you drop as little as biscuit nylon on the road because you're in transit and you would never think about where that nylon will end up in.
Some would even carelessly cause accidents with their dirty acts by throwing the peels of banana that they eat on the road. A bike probably steps on that and cause it to slip then boom, bikeman and passenger falls on a bike on motion.
The bitter truth is that when we are unhygienic to the environment we live in, we're not the only ones at risk but the entire residents.
This will make me talk about some low-level income or less privileged people that normally, we know that when the consequences of our dirtiness comes, we don't have the financial capability to sort the healthcare expenses but we would still inhabit the act of untidiness, dumping refuse in drainages that water is supposed to pass through.
Constant blockage of the drainage now causes illness due to the fact that these people still lives close to the dirty areas.
Either we have money or not, influential or not, all these doesn't initiate the act of cleanliness. Humans can be as poor as a church rat and still be as clean as a flawless baby while we can be rich and still be as dirty as a pig.
Cleanliness starts from what you do to yourself before it extends to the things or people around you.
This last thing I want to mention may sound funny but it's just the truth. Some of the Singles Pringles are still single because of untidiness, uncleanliness, unhygienic habits and what else can we call it
It's not about the gorgeous dress or outfit on the outside, but those underwears inside. God! 🤦
Holiness and Cleanliness is next to God
So learning to tidy up our environment and surroundings everytime, being clean in and out, might cause our prayers and supplications to be attended to and answered on time.
Let me just stop here because talking about cleanliness in a thousand words won't still touch it all.
