I understand your point. Sometimes that role is what you need to opt for a decent position, even if it sometimes lacks meaning for what you will be executing from there. I think that the qualities of the applicant for the position also have a lot of weight, but unfortunately our family and friends cannot give us a certificate that endorses those positive aspects. I think it is very wise the way you are thinking: sometimes we have to concentrate on achieving one thing and then we think about the other. Focusing on getting your degree is the best thing to do, and then decide what you will do. The scenario you find yourself in then may be different than now, so the variants are not the same.
