Nostalgia
Nostalgia is a feeling of longing for situations or experiences of the past, particularly those that are pleasant, important or unforgettable. It can be described as the sadness for the loss of things past, and at the same time, the joy associated with the memory of those things.
Nostalgia allows us to capture the bittersweet sensation of remembering times gone by, whether they were joyful, difficult or simply a specific period of our lives. They can evoke in us feelings of warmth, longing and even a certain sense of escape.
This pair of photos belonging to my personal archive, were taken a few years ago during a brief trip to Puerto Cabello, a port city located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, and characterized by a very well preserved colonial center, a reflection of past times, which has been gaining popularity in recent years as a tourist destination worth visiting.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
La nostalgia es un sentimiento de anhelo por situaciones o vivencias del pasado, particularmente aquellas que nos resultan gratas, importantes o inolvidables. Puede describirse como la tristeza por la pérdida de las cosas pasadas, y al mismo tiempo, la alegría asociada al recuerdo de esas cosas.
La nostalgia nos permite capturar la sensación agridulce de recordar tiempos idos, bien hayan sido alegres, difíciles o simplemente, un periodo específico de nuestras vidas. Pueden evocar en nosotros sentimientos de calidez, añoranza e incluso una cierta sensación de evasión.
Este par de fotos pertenecientes a mi archivo personal, las tomé algunos atrás durante un breve paseo a Puerto Cabello, una ciudad portuaria ubicada a orillas del Mar Caribe, y que se caracteriza por un casco colonial muy bien conservado, reflejo de épocas pasadas, y que ha ido ganando popularidad en los últimos años como un destino turístico digno de visitar.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
