This garden update is from last week while I was in Mumbai. A year and a half back, I planted some of these plants, and I knew that these plants are going to take a very long time to grow up. The 2 main trees here are the Sapodilla and Mango. Normally they take 4 to 5 years to grow and start giving fruits. It does feel a long time but then time passes quickly. In a year and half's time I am already seeing good progress with their growth. On the Sapodilla tree there are already some fruits coming up, but they do not ripe up and are very small. I need to keep cutting them out, they are not in a consumable state. The Mango may take another 2 to 3 years more to start giving fruits. A lot of patience is needed with these plants.
When they were planted, they looked so fragile, and I was always in doubt if they could stand the rough weather. Because in my region it rains a lot and there is very heavy wind. Most of the flower plants get destroyed in monsoon :-(. This time during my visit, I was happy to see them strong. They are growing up well and the roots have firmed up.
This is the Sapodilla tree, it still has a long way to go, it's growing well.

The mango tree, it's taking up a good height in comparison to the other one.

This is the Bay Leaf tree. Dried bay leaves are very good to be used in cooking, they have some good health benefits like anti-inflammatory properties, and positive effect on heart and immune system health. I have already started using them in cooking.

This one is hubby's favorite. Night blooming Jasmine. We call it Raat Rani in our local language, means the night queen. It has a beautiful fragrance which comes up majorly in the night time.

My caretaker helps me in trimming the plants and cleaning the garden. It is a lot of work for me to manage all by myself so help is always needed.

Due to heavy rains, the lemon grass has fallen apart. Will plant it again, because this is one herb that I use regularly in cooking and also it's fragrance in the air is amazing.

I will be back here in a month's time, I am sure not much will change. I plan to put some vegetables plants for personal use during my next visit. Last year I had a good harvest of Tomatoes, Lady Fingers, Aubergines, flat beans, broccoli and some others. Let's see this time what I want to grow.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
