While waiting for my flight bound for Siargao, my boo brought me to this little spot tucked away in nature’s quiet corner, The High Grounds Coffee. And let me just say, that quick caffeine run turned into an unexpectedly perfect pre-flight adventure.
Sometimes, all you need is good coffee, good company, and a surprise detour to reset your soul. And this place? It delivered all three.
The rustic charm of The Shack with its native roofing, cactus-lined walls, and cozy aesthetic pulled me in right away. I arrived travel-ready (luggage and all, because I came to slay the airport too), and instantly knew this wasn’t just another café stop, it was a whole vibe.
And then came the magic in a glass: their Sea Salt Foam Spanish Latte.
I’ve tried sea salt lattes before, but this one? Unmatched. Smooth, creamy, with that subtle sea salt kick that makes every sip feel like a warm wave crashing over your taste buds. It was love at first sip, and yes, I took my sweet time savoring every drop. Bonus points for the thoughtful presentation, complete with a little card explaining the blend. You know I live for cute café details.
Inside, the vibe was effortlessly cool—polished concrete interiors, a sleek coffee bar, soft lighting, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to stay a little longer, even if your flight's calling.
We perched at the counter, chatted, laughed, and sipped our way through what felt like a cozy escape before the tropical escape. This little caffeine adventure turned out to be the perfect prelude to my Siargao trip.
