Would you believe me if I told you that finding a coffee shop in Nigeria felt like a treasure hunt? For the longest time, I searched, but nothing! Until now. Here in this post I'll walk you through my ever first visit to a proper coffee shop in Nigeria_Cafe One Uyo.
If you notice in my post about finding a moving coffee stand you'll see that I wrote not having found an actual coffee shop. As it is, coffee is not exactly a thing in Nigeria , especially in the city I live, but I knew there could be a few coffee shops in other cities, so I browsed coffee shops in uyo city and found a few results
So as soon as I travelled to Uyo, I went to the address I found online

Here are some search results | I chose the first one, Cafe one UYO as the address was closer to where I based |
I went to the coffee shop venue and found the place very empty and the hall was still being painted, so I quickly knew they weren't open yet, and the security there kindly told me they weren't open yet and told me the opening date. I was excited and determined to come back on the day of opening, so I still took some photos of the fun wall coffee painting
So as soon as it was the opening date they gave me, I dressed up and rushed to 162 Oron road Uyo and what I met with was super super exciting.
There were really nice decorations, balloons and beautiful children dancing outside
Inside was also really beautiful, as I went upstairs I realized it was a big event with all wealthy people and all so I had to blend in too, I found everything really interesting.

Soon I went to order some coffee, I was surprised how expensive just a cup of coffee was. If you notice in the post I wrote about a moving coffee truck I found and the price was almost nothing. But the prices here were much but in the end I still got what I wanted and payed for it
Below are their list of prices so I got a vanilla latte for N5200, about $3.36 at it's current price, this seemed like a luxury for a cup of coffee but I still enjoyed every sip of it.
The serving place was very much arranged and they were nice people there, and everything was also clean as it should be. They do not just sell coffee, they also sell some herbal teas and some snacks that goes perfectly with coffee
It didn't take long till my order arrived and I admired the setting, the cup and everything, I certainly loved it. Very unique, unlike anything I've seen in real life. The vanilla latte was smooth, rich and average, not too bitter and not too sweet, it was perfect.
It tasted almost like the one at the moving coffee truck but you can tell this one has more quality and quantity.
There were also exciting more activities like games and comedy, and good music, everything felt great and I was starting to feel the price of the coffee was worth it

There were also speeches being delivered by some of the businesses partners explaining how the business started, how it works, how many branches they had in Nigeria and all that.
I could see that the place was also designed for coffee lovers to work or relax, and this was also mentioned in the post, there's also a room for business owners to host their business meetings over cups of coffee.
Finding a coffee shop in Nigeria really felt like a rare adventure, and attending its grand opening made it even more special. While the pricing leans toward the luxury side, it was an experience worth having and I didn't regret anything I spent there!
Would I go back? Yes, definitely anytime I visit Uyo again I'd love to try it again and explore their other coffee flavors, as well as try visiting other coffee shops too, but what would I go back there for? Coffee or experience? Well I'd say both, I loved everything, just that maybe the price could be adjusted a bit, so that more people can afford a cup but that is just my opinion.
Thank y'all for your time here, I hope you liked the experience, and watch out for more updates!
