the public library in Larvik has a great little cafe inside
from the main entrance it's to the left past the magazines and newspaper section (tidsskrifter)
the name is bokbiten cafe. bok means book and there's a play of words between bit and bite. it's bright and cheery, open, modern but cozy
baby chairs are available
the coffee menu and prices are typical with a price range USD 4-5. the coffee is from Solberg & Hansen, a highly respected Norwegian brand
spread the word the ice tea is homemade-
a few food items and pastries are available along with a range of flavors for smoothies and milkshakes
a neat compact disk setup out front and kitchen in the back room
plenty of seating. the place was a little less than half full
the library is owned and manged by the city of Larvik. the cafe on contract to a private business. here this woman is the owner and sole staff at the time i was there
i ordered an americano with marsipan cake. both were excellen, better than i expected actually
so i grabbed the local newspaper and read it while the wife was doing some shopping nearby
mmm nice coffee. recommended!
a glass wall separates the cafe from the computers. i'm not sure if taking your order and sitting with a computer is discouraged. none of the screens were being used while i was there
that was great. here just a quick shot from a section of the library as i was leaving to find the wife before the 1 hour free parking expired.
thanks for joining me at Bokbiten Cafe. hope to see you again soon.
