We popped into Miss T's Tea Room and Delicatessen in our local village.
It's quite a popular place and very community minded. As well as the odd charity event, they also have get togethers for carers in the village. The owner was surprised at how alone people felt when caring for a loved one, so she set up a space to share feelings and meet with other carers for support.
We settled on a black americano, cappuccino, ham and cheese panini and scrambled eggs on toast. The mint chocolate biscuit was a freebie and always welcome!
They sell a nice collection of cakes as well. I nearly bought a shortbread face but decided to be good instead.
Last Christmas, I bought a friend of mine a £10 voucher to spend in the café. I can remember the owner writing her name on the back. She told us later that some scammer had bought a voucher and photocopied it on a top-notch copier and used it again! This was the reason she now writes her name on the back so she would be able to tell if it's a copy or not. You can't trust anybody these days.
It was a good visit and always a friendly place as you always get chatting to other customers, who later become friends.
