A chance to see life through other people's perspectives, learn and unwind? What is there not to love about that? I have always been a lover of podcasts but then, I haven't been able to find the right one for me. Or maybe I didn't search well enough, yeah? I randomly go to the Spotify application and surf the podcast section and just select a random podcaster and listen to one or two episodes. I don't do it often, and honestly, I think it was just lack of direction. I needed just a chat session with @olujay about podcasts to get that direction I have been looking for. He recommended two podcasters to me and I promised to check them out. By the way, I meant it!
I checked out one of the podcasts that was recommended to me today and I was so glued that I finished about three episodes. Even when I went out and got busy, I still plugged in my earphones and I listened on. I knew from today that podcasts would be my thing for a very long time and I also realized that I love listening when I am engaged in one task or the other. Also, it could be a good substitute for music sometimes. I had a better day today because I spent my morning listening while I, it was very therapeutic and it is definitely going to be regular routine for me from now on.
I think my most favourite thing about podcasts is that it can be a form of free therapy. It is very beautiful to hear strangers talk about something you can relate to and give you clarity about some things, or even heal you from some traumas as the case may be. There are some things that can be twisted in your head and hearing it from another person's point of view is all you need to straighten out your thoughts. I like that some podcasters do so much research and share their knowledge to their listeners. When you hear the thought process of some people, you will be so amazed and I always look forward to discovering how beautiful the human mind actually works.
Apart from all these, podcasts are very informative, educative and can contribute to a positive shift of mindset. There are so many brilliant minds out there and from the comfort of wherever I am, I can get to listen to them and pick out useful points that will help me in so many ways. As time goes on, I know I will still discover more podcasters that will touch topics that will interest me and allign with my goals and also contribute to my growth. I hope I don't get too obsessed and if I do, it will be a good kind of obsession, won't it?
Thanks for reading ❤️
