Digi-Prompts: My Steps Toward Digital Minimalism

in Digital Lifestyle2 days ago

Hello 👋 everyone! I'm so much excited to join this week's #DigiPrompt challenge in the Digital Lifestyle Community! which is one of my best community on Hive. The topic I'll term as digital diet is indeed one that many of us can relate to as well. In our world 🌍 now where notifications, endless scrolling, and many app clutter have become part of our own daily routine, cutting ✂️ down hours on screen time sounds both refreshing and also challenging which I know very much about.

Where I Would Start

If I really had to cut back on my digital habits which of course i should, my first step here would be to delete all the unused apps like Phantom and Solflare wallets among other iny device—since they somehow serve no purpose for me at the moment. Additionally, I'd so love to reduce my time on this social apps; Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, as these apps not only consume my time alone but also take up much valuable storage on my device and data consumption in this harsh economy and high data rate of my country.

The Challenge of Digital Minimalism

I’ve always attempted digital minimalism before, much particularly trying to minimize my social media scrolling. However friends, I often find myself going back in the loop, mindlessly scrolling through again. The ease of my access and the fear of missing out (FOMO) on latest happening in my country and the world entirely make it hard to stick to the plan. It’s so thrilling yet frustrating how these platforms are really designed to keep us engaged on it.

Tips for a Clutter-Free Digital Life

I'll say if I were to fully embrace a digital diet, then below 👇 are my recreational steps I’d take:

  • I'll Use an app timers to limit how long I'm spending on social media and every other app.
  • Delete distractions by so removing apps I don’t use that used up my space and probably makes my phone 📱 hang.
  • I'll really Schedule screen-free time to focus on the real-life activities.
  • Be very much mindful of digital consumption, like asking myself if every online activity adds value to me/us.
The Ideal Digital Lifestyle

A more clutter-free digital life, to me, would really mean less time scrolling, more time in creating, learning, and being much present in the moment. It’s definitely a journey I hope to commit to, even if it certainly means taking small steps at a time to reach the target 🎯.

So dear "Hivers* Have you ever tried the digital minimalism? How did it go for you from your end? Let’s do well to talk about it by join this prompt using this Link!

I understand the struggle of digital clutter and the constant temptation of social media. Setting app timers, deleting unused apps and all those things you mentioned are very great strategies.
I would also recommend that theres tthe need to check what one does online and check to see if they all add value to ones life or not.
Also, we can't eliminate it(technology), but we can be mindful and intentional about that way we use it so as to maintain a good balance.
Thanks for sharing.

Less screen time is always healthy. Especially when it comes to social apps, maybe that is just my bias talking. Okay, I would also understand the need for more memory where unwanted apps are concerned.
