Hello, hello, my beautiful people. Navigating in the waters of the hive I came across the proposal of @hivecreatorsday and decided to join the challenge. The Casco Histórico is a place that represents my city, Cumaná - Sucre state, here in the San Francisco neighborhood is located the church Santa Inés, cultural and historical icon.
The Venezuelan government has made several investments to maintain the architectural features, houses and old church. Fundamentally this is the seat of the archdiocese of Cumaná. This temple was elevated to a minor basilica in the year 2024 by the Holy See of the Vatican.
The Santa Inés church owes its name to a very brave and kind woman who made a sacrifice for the good of her people, for the Catholic faith she professed. The miracle attributed to her was the solar eclipse that drove away the Indians and prevented a massacre, this happened on January 21, 1572, that is why this day is commemorated. I can safely say that it fills me with emotion and fervor to have such a beautiful church.
In the photos we can also see the alley El Alacrán, a site that is a tourist reference, still preserves the colonial architecture, looks colorful and full of life, thanks to the plants and flowers that embellish it.

El Casco Histórico es un lugar que representa mi cuidad, Cumaná - estado Sucre, aquí en el barrio San Francisco está ubicada la iglesia Santa Inés, ícono cultural e histórico.
El gobierno venezolano ha realizado varias inversiones para mantener las características arquitectónicas, casas e iglesia antañona. Fundamentalmente esta es la sede de la arquidiócesis de Cumaná. Este templo fue elevado a basílica menor en el año 2024 por la santa sede del Vaticano.
La iglesia Santa Inés debe su nombre a una mujer muy valiente y bondadosa que realizó un sacrificio por el bien de su pueblo, por la fe católica que profesaba. El milagro que se le atribuyó fue el eclipse solar que ahuyentó a los indios y evitó una masacre, este ocurrió el 21 de enero de 1572, por eso se conmemora este día. Puedo decir con toda seguridad que me llena de emoción y fervor tener una iglesia tan hermosa.
En las fotos también podemos observar el callejón El Alacrán, un sitio que es referencia turística, aún conserva la arquitectura colonial, luce colorido y lleno de vida, gracias a las plantas y flores que lo embellecen.
Fue un placer mostrarles un pedacito de mi ciudad, la primogénita del continente americano.
