In chemistry, vapor pressure is the pressure exerted by the vapor of a substance when it is in equilibrium with its liquid (or solid) at a given temperature. One of the most important rules is that the higher the temperature, the higher the vapor pressure, because more molecules have enough energy to pass into the vapor state.
