Saturday Sushi Vibes
Yesterday
Yesterday evening, after what felt like forever, I finally decided to go out. It was Saturday, the weather was just right, and honestly, I needed a reset. Me, the sea, some sushi, great company and a much-needed Aperol Spritz. I ended up at Madala, that gorgeous seaside bar-restaurant down in Paralia Katerinis. They nail the sushi game.
The vibe? Pure chill. The kind that instantly makes you forget emails, to-do lists, and whatever else has been draining you lately. I got there just in time to catch the sunset—the sky slowly turning orange and pink as the sea reflected every color back like it was putting on a show just for me. Honestly, I didn’t realize how much I needed this until I sat down and exhaled.
As for the food, I went with the maki mix—a solid go-to when you’re feeling indecisive but want to taste everything. California roll, salmon teriyaki roll, crispy roll (the crunch was next level), and a classic futo roll. I also threw in a chicken bao bun, because I can never say no to one of those fluffy little clouds of flavor. Everything was fresh, beautifully plated, and straight-up delicious.
And of course, the star of the evening—Aperol Spritz. Ice cold, just bitter enough, and dangerously easy to sip while watching the horizon stretch out endlessly in front of you.
It wasn’t just about the food or the view. It was about slowing down. About letting the week fade away for a moment. I left feeling lighter, like I’d been on a mini vacation without even leaving town.
Might just turn this into a Saturday ritual. Highly recommend.
P.S I grabbed my phone only once to take some pictures.
