Today at primary school, Rex and Rez joined the cross-country run. Last year, Rez came in fourth place, but this year, he finished sixth. Even though his ranking dropped, I’m still proud of him because he rarely does physical activities that involve running. Rex also participated in the cross-country run this year. In the past, he hardly joined because of his asthma. But I’m really proud of Rex for pushing himself to join this year. This will be his last chance to participate in a primary school cross-country run, as the next one will be in secondary school when he starts Form One.
After work, I picked them up from school, and we headed straight to town. The highlight of the day was the opening of an Eco shop—a store where everything is priced at just RM2.60! Hearing the name “Eco shop,” the kids got super excited. This store is usually only available in my wife’s hometown, and we always visit it whenever we’re there. As expected, the kids wanted to pick out toys. But there was a slight change with Rex—he’s no longer into toys and opted for other things. Today, he chose some canned cat food instead.
Eiona wasn’t left out either. She took her time deciding which toy she wanted. She usually goes for battery-operated toys, but unfortunately, there weren’t any. So, she picked out a toy with some mechanical gears. When you press a small pedal, a toy duck climbs up, and once it reaches the top, it slides back down, repeating the process with the pedal.
Eiona also got to take a picture with a big red ant mascot. At first, she was scared to go near it. It took her a while to build up the courage to pose for a photo and even touch the mascot.
