Hello dedicated hivers of this amazing Aseanhive Community! How was your tables? A lot of hivers here shared foods and I was very delighted to see their different recipes. Everything is new to me and I was shocked knowing some foods can be eaten that I haven't tried before. A lot of you here also showed different recipes of noodles so today I'm gonna sharing a recipe that was taught by my grandfather and mother which I really like the most and it is always present on every special celebration. Today I don't have any special thing but I was craving for it so I made it and photograph everything to share my way of cooking it. This is pretty simple with accessible ingredients. So let's start!
These are the following ingredients I use:
Pancit Canton
Tanghon
Cabbage
Onion
Garlic
Soy sauce
Calamansi
Salt
Msg
Paminta Powder
Siomai
Fried Fish
Oyster sauce
Water
First I just washed and sliced all the garlic and onion and set aside.
Then I also prepare the fried fish by turning it into tiny pieces as well as the siomai I just cut it once. Fried fish is our viand from yesterday and last night we had siomai so everything is left over and instead of eating it plain or throwing it away I think it's better to add them in my recipe.
Then I slice the cabbage into tiny pieces then washed it thoroughly.
I never knew about oyster sauce not until my mother tell me about it that it can add flavor to the recipe. It tastes sweet but salty.
This is the pancit Canton. This is so fragile. There are a lot of brands for this kind of soft noodle but I choose this one because it's more cheap.
This one is the glass noodle, we call it tanghon locally. This kind of noodle is so slimy and so long.
First to cook is the onion and garlic. Make sure it is well sautéed. The more it is golden brown the more it has strong smell and flavor
Then I add the meat which is the fried siomai and fried fish.
Then add water. Here I added 2 glasses of water. Water must be enough to be sip with the noodles in order to have a dry result
While waiting the water to boil, it's a good recommendation to soothe the glass noodle to a tub of water so it will not consume more water later when mix at the main mixture.
Add the salt, magic sarap, msg, pepper and soy sauce to the boiling mixture.
Then add the tanghon. This should be the first one because it needs more boiling time because this is way harder.
If you find the tanghon is slimy add the pancit Canton and mix it well.
Then add the cabbage and also mix it well so it can be distributed to all the parts of the mixture.
Then this is the final result. It was so beautiful. It must be more beautiful if there's a carrots but I don't have it in my kitchen.
I had a very hazy hair today. Excuse me for that but I had a delicious recipe for my family.
How about you? What are your favorite noodle recipe?
That's all for today hivers. I hope you have lots on your table at meal time. Thank you for reading my posts. Till next time!
