Happy Monday Hivers!
Time really does fly so fast. I can still remember when this little one was just in her mother’s womb, and now she’s already celebrating her first birthday.
By the way, she’s the daughter of my first-degree cousin, her father is my cousin. I rarely get to see this little one because I usually leave home early for work, and by the time I get back in the evening, she’s already in their home. That’s why I was amazed when we were invited to their place for dinner, I couldn’t believe how much she’s grown!

When we arrived at their house, it was mostly family and relatives who were there. I was amazed by the decorations, everything looked so festive! I really loved the colors and how beautifully everything was arranged.
I asked my cousin’s wife who did the decorations, and she said it was just her and one helper. I told her it looked really beautiful, and she replied that she actually rushed to finish decorating while the birthday celebrant was still asleep.

After we finished eating, I tried to carry the celebrant, and guess what? She wouldn’t come to me. When I tried to pick her up, she started crying, so I just watched her from a distance. But when my brother will carry her, it's ok with her. She constantly saw my brother, so she used to be with him.

Because of how busy we are with work, we really have very little time to spend with our relatives. On weekends, I prefer to just stay at home and rest, so it’s no wonder that kids we rarely see don’t really recognize me.

I realized that I should start showing up more often and spending time with this little one so she’ll get used to me and won’t cry the next time I carry her.
After we finished eating and chatting, we headed home to give others a chance to eat next. It’s really rare for us relatives to see each other; we only get to gather during special occasions.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
