Badminton is a bit of a boring sport without a net, but add one attack kitty to the situation and you have a whole new even better game.
Just Another Netless Badminton Day 🏸
This badminton session started out normally until ChairWoman Meow, our communist comrade kitty, decided the sport was not a suitable replacement for the peoples' sport, table tennis. Comrade Meow let us play for only 5 minutes before she decided to put an end to our god-given netless badminton rights.
🐈⬛ Meow Puts An End To Badminton 🚫
Meow targeted everything from the birdie to the rackets, and often anything moving in between. Although no photos exist, she was enjoying doing quick drive-bys each time the birdie hit the ground. She was simply too quick for photography, but communists are kind of known for disliking this hobby of the bourgeoisie.
Regardless of the occasional damage done to the birdie by Meow, gameplay continued on. The girls are getting better and better at a proper underhanded serve that would work in a real game, and we'd already have a net if there weren't constant heavy winds here in the Cardamom Mountains.
When the girls battle it out they rarely get a steady volley going, but that will surely come in due time. On this day though, Meow was the star on the court, offering everyone lots of laughs everytime she attacked an ankle, downed birdie, racket or patch of grass.
🤔 Perhaps A New Sport Is Born
Meow was even going to the point to try and camouflage herself in the grass, then shaking her butt just like the moment before she pounces on prey, leaping at the birdie in a single bound. I had no idea this little daytime distraction was going to trigger some killer instincts in our cat. I'm sure that she took this pent up excitement and used it to hunt down several butterflies and geckos.
One of the shots managed to capture Monkey-B on the ground watching Meow while a birdie flew overhead. My wife is responsible for nearly all of these shots because she was experimenting with my phone while the girls and I played a little badminton, I mean meow-minton.
I finish things with Monkey-B in between Srey-Yuu and I, creating a bit of a "monkey in the middle" situation, a favorite childhood game of mine, and one I almost never won because I was one of the youngest and smallest kids in the countryside where I lived. This day of exercise reminds me that I need to involve some aerobic activities in my daily life, but I'd rather have an indoor table tennis setup, especially for the 8 months of rain we have.
