Majority of my relatives are solid Roman Catholics. I remembered when I was in elementary I was like doing the famous saying, "If you are in Rome do what the Romans do." I copied them doing the sign of the cross, then my classmates got confused because they knew that I am not a Roman Catholic as I joined them to go to the school library when it is Religion class for students who belong to Roman Catholic religion. I just told them that I am a half Catholic to justify why I followed doing the sign of the cross. Actually, I was just going with the flow.

As I have a solid Catholic Aunt who is very devoted to Catholicism, she quickly became my reference when I said I was a half Catholic. I recalled when I was younger that I like wearing a cloth to cover my hair, I think it was because of the pictures of Mama Mary.

When I was in high school during my freshmen as well as sophomore years, I was enrolled in a Catholic school, Immaculate Conception
was its name and there was no exemption for non-Catholics to join the Catholic religion class. It was included in their curriculum so students enrolled in that school should also pass that subject. I recalled we were told to recite a long prayer in front and it is done one by one.

Luckily, I was able to recite it so I passed the religion course even if I am not a Roman Catholic. The teacher was also surprised that I did well in the memorization of the long prayer. She did not expect.

Students in that school were also required to attend a monthly mass every first Friday of the month wearing a special uniform.

I also have Auntie who is now living in a monastery as nun.

Photos are mine.
