Yesterday, we were invited to attend a distant relative's birthday celebration. The celebrant turned 12, she's now a young lady. The funny thing was that actually it was our first time to meet yesterday, we are invited by the major sponsors so it was slightly awkward on our part. We knew her mother when we were still young way back in our childhood days we were introduced as cousins so the young lady is our niece. Her mom was not around yesterday, she was missing in action. But I saw her one time in downtown. She might be busy enough for not attending her daughter's birthday celebration or maybe she changed religion that no longer celebrate birthday and the likes.

The special thing about her birthday celebration is the big lechon, actually the skin is my favorite too. I like the food prepared on her birthday. The fruits included grapes and jackfruit which are rarely served on a buffet eat all you can, it was quite a surprise to see it on the table.

Usually on occasions like this I normally prioritize putting on my plate the desserts if I like it or it suits my taste, I don't put rice only vegetable or meat even pasta.

I like the muffin, it was delicious, the almond toppings makes it tasty. I like the feeling of being invited in a family gatherings like this. It makes the family grow stronger and even distant relatives will have the opportunity to be connected.

Photos are mine.
