Greetings ASEAN Hivers, this week's challenge is all about traditional textiles, so show me your sarongs, dresses, pants, scarves, and any other traditional textiles.

🧣 Traditional Textiles 👗
👨💻 Week #157 👩💻
May 5th ➡️ May 12th, 2025Whether it be the multi-use Cambodian krama or the batik fabrics of Indonesia and Malaysia, Thai silk or Vietnam's áo bà ba, there are so many traditional fabrics and textiles in Southeast Asia. My family and I have several hundred different Cambodian textiles we will be selling in the USA within a few months, and now this project has interested me in textiles throughout this part of the world.

Whether you have old photos of you in traditional dress or simply have some pieces you want to show, all are welcome for this challenge. Of course feel free to create some new shots if you want to strike a pose. If you happen to be outside Southeast Asia and can highlight some traditional textiles of another part of the world, kudos to you. Please share info like what the material is made from, how it's produced, price, basically anything relevant that you feel like sharing.

Week #156 ASEAN Hive Challenge Winners
🍈 Local Markets 🛍️
🍈 Local Markets 🛍️
This challenge reminded me how much I need to go to the market and do some shopping. Whether something as small as a kiosk or a proper local market with several vendors, this challenge was full of variety and character, thus making my always hard job selecting only 3 posts even harder. Please consider the following three entries....
1st Prize 🏆 10% Beneficiary

In the market, there is always one store where I buy most of my veggies. The owner of it is Tita Ana and her husband. But in the photos below, she’s only with her sister, Tita Analy. In our country, tita means aunt. I bought some veggies from her for the lumpia, some spices, and lots of eggplants. I love eggplants! Especially when just fried and dipped in soy sauce, vinegar, and chili.
2nd Prize 🥈 6% Beneficiary

Hey friends! It's been a while since I joined the community's challenge. Actually, it was my mom @arashi0416 who initially wanted to join this week's challenge. She asked my father to take photos when he went to the local market nearby, and he complied. However, she is kind of busy preparing another recipe blog, so she told me to join the challenge instead. I don't mind doing so... and it would be a shame not to share the photos that my father took, right?
3rd Prize 🥉 4% Beneficiary

Hello everyone! I was excited to participate in the weekly challenge of the Asean Hive Community Challenge #156, which focuses on Local Markets. Last week, my sister and I visited the local market in Valencia to buy some fruit. It was an ordinary day, and after enjoying a cup of coffee, we decided to eat something healthy and pick up some fresh fruit at the local market. Why choose the local market?
