Greetings ASEAN Hivers, this weeks' challenge is all about how we ASEAN Hivers reduce our consumption, reuse items, and recycle various things.
🚮 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ♻️
👨💻 Week #103 👩💻
April 1st ➡️ April 8th, 2024Whether it be building a robot from discarded items like in the thumbnail or using leftover baked potatoes as house slippers, there are so many ways to reduce our consumption, reuse things, and recycle items. This week's challenge is all about how we reduce, reuse, and recycle, all things that help the environment and leave more resources for our children to benefit from. Here in Cambodia people are very resourceful, even leftover CDs are used as reflectors on the mudflaps of slow-moving tractors.
Recycling plastic bottles and aluminum cans, turning old clothing into kitchen rags, milk cartons as planters, jars for drinking glasses, there are so many different creative ways we all repurpose and reuse things as well as recycle or upcycle. Even you're feeling too lazy to do dishes you can eat your dinner on banana leaves like I do sometimes, haha. There are also many repairmen and women in Southeast Asia, fixing things like stand fans and water pumps, all examples of things to share for this challenge. Be creative with your shots and tell a good story, that's always a good formula.

There was such an abundance of entries for this challenge that I found it impossible to choose only three winners in one evening. I had to sleep on it and finish things in the morning with fresh eyes and fingers for curating. I unfortunately narrowed things down to the three winning posts you see below, but I highly recommend if you find this topic of interest, scroll the previous challenge post and explore all the challenge entries.

My post for today is also my entry to sir @justinparke Goin Green. Why did I choose this as my entry? Because this is what we don't have for now, Soil! Around us. And if we have soil we can plant vegetables, flowers and rice just like before. But now it's been different, we are sorrounded by enormous water. Our way of living also change; like the farmers are now fisherman. They ride on carabao's so they crashed their soil. But now paddling on boat so they can tour around their living.

Upon reading the photography theme for this week given to us by our kind and good admin @justinparke, I tried looking for photos in my gallery that has the color green in them. Luckily I have quiet a few photos that fits the criteria. Green is basically everywhere from plants to trees, to grass, to things, to toys, to clothes, cars, buildings, etc. everywhere you look you will find this color. Now let me tell you the stories of my green colored subjects.

Hive Community Challenge #102, Hello #aseanhive community. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to talk about the wonderful green color. I hope you are having a great time with the Hive family and working hard. Let's go green. Let's make some short stories about green. Which instills eternal peace in our hearts. If I want to tell you a story about the green fruit as if it is not a new fruit, it is a combination of green. Always reminds me of green fruits and vegetables. The green field is green and the grass is green.
