Hola a todos, feliz día. Hoy, al igual que ayer, han sido días de madrugar, y a esa hora, antes de asomar el sol, comenzar a trabajar, porque desde que inició la semana ya tenía encargos de postres que debía entregar ayer, y para hoy, ya tengo otra tanda pendiente; pero me tomé unos minutos del tiempo estrecho que tiene mi agenda navideña, para entrar a contarles cómo van las cosas, escribir siempre es uno de mis momentos para relajarme.

Esta primera producción se trata de una de las elaboraciones más delicadas de mi repostería navideña, una fusión que hice entre la torta navideña tradicional, y la torta húmeda de chocolate. Cada paso lo tenía que hacer con cuidado porque se trataba de muchos detalles; el humectante del biscocho, el sirope de chocolate, la crema pastelera que también era de chocolate, el biscocho que debe quedar suave y esponjoso, y finalmente, la incorporación en este experimento, de los frutos secos, frutillas confitadas y cerezas típicos de la torta navideña. Todo este conjunto sin convertir mi postre en una mezcla redundante, sino por el contrario, en una fiesta de sabores que merece repetirse.

Amo mi trabajo y lo que hago, lo disfruto, me concentro tanto cuando estoy en la cocina que se me van las horas creando sabores espectaculares que al llegar al público y lo prueben, cierren los ojos y se entreguen al placer de comer algo delicioso, y que lo expresen; esa sensación es maravillosa. Hay una frase muy popular que dice: “Elige un trabajo que te guste, y no tendrás que trabajar ni un solo día de tu vida”, creo que es de Confucio… pero yo la transformé un poco y la mía dice: “Si amas lo que estás haciendo, ya no es trabajo, es placer”. Ambas frases me gustan, y expresan lo que experimento.

Por lo pronto, sigo organizándome en medio de una navidad que comienza a ponerse activa, con la agenda repleta entre escribir, emprender, y llevar una vida personal lo más sana y relajada posible (es un reto, jajaja), pero disfrutando el paisaje durante este viaje que yo misma construí para mi paz… por supuesto, siempre orientada por Dios, mi único guía en este momento de mi vida.

Hello everyone, happy day! Today, just like yesterday, has been a day of getting up early, and at that hour, before the sun even rises, I have to start working. Since the beginning of the week, I already had dessert orders that I had to deliver yesterday, and I already have another batch pending for today. But I took a few minutes from my tight Christmas schedule to pop in and tell you how things are going. Writing is always one of my ways to relax.

This first batch is one of the most delicate creations in my Christmas baking repertoire, a fusion I made between a traditional Christmas cake and a moist chocolate cake. I had to do each step carefully because it involved so many details: the moistening agent for the sponge, the chocolate syrup, the pastry cream, which was also chocolate, the sponge cake that had to be soft and fluffy, and finally, the addition, in this experiment, of the nuts, candied strawberries, and cherries typical of a Christmas cake. All of this comes together without turning my dessert into a redundant concoction, but rather, into a celebration of flavors that deserves to be repeated.

I love my work and what I do; I enjoy it. I concentrate so much when I'm in the kitchen that hours fly by as I create spectacular flavors that, when they reach the public and they taste them, allow them to close their eyes and surrender to the pleasure of eating something delicious, and to express that pleasure; that feeling is wonderful. There's a very popular saying: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." I think it's from Confucius... but I've adapted it a bit, and mine says: "If you love what you're doing, it's no longer work, it's pleasure." I like both sayings, and they express what I experience.

For now, I'm still getting organized amidst a Christmas season that's starting to get busy, with a packed schedule of writing, entrepreneurial ventures, and trying to lead as healthy and relaxed a personal life as possible (it's a challenge, haha), but enjoying the scenery during this journey I've created for my own peace… of course, always guided by God, my only guide at this point in my life.
