Garden update - My plants are thriving in the monsoon!

in HiveGarden11 days ago

Namaste to all gardeners and plant lovers!

For the last several weeks, I had not done any work in my garden, like removing unnecessary grass, etc., and now the monsoon has started, due to which it rains three to four days a week but now, the condition of some plants has started deteriorating, and in some pots, different plants have strengthened their roots.

For example, last week, many tomato plants had grown in the pot where I had planted lemon plants, although I had not planted tomato seeds in it. But this happens sometimes when the soil is loosened and the old buried seeds become active and germinate. And now, in the rain of the last one week, their size had suddenly increased a lot, so today I separated those plants and planted them in saperate pots. Out of a total of six plants, the biggest one is in a separate pot and the rest five together in my biggest pot.

Below is a capsicum plant which for some reason, did not grow well in the beginning and then it was also attacked by mealybugs. I saved it from that by using organic pesticide, but then its growth slowed down. Now, in the rain,s it has become green again, so I felt that it needs a good treatment so I repotted it after adding insecticide along with organic fertilizer. Currently, it has flowers too, which will probably fall off because I had pruned its roots during flowering but that work was also necessary as I need its good health before its fruits.

These are some flowering plants. I don't know their name, and neither have I planted them in my garden. This is probably some weed which grows on its own, but beautiful pink flowers bloom on it. Earlier, I used to uproot and throw them away every time, but today, for the first time, I thought that there should be a separate pot for them too. So I collected them and planted them in a pot. Now, hopefully in the next few weeks, beautiful flowers will bloom on them too. 😊

And last but not least, this is my baby Adenium. I know it is not a baby anymore, but imagine I grew it from a seed a few years ago, so seeing it so big today makes me feel very good. There is great news related to this, which I will tell you in the next blog, so stay tuned till then!😁
