My lemon plant is very sick

A few days ago I presented a post where I shared how to prepare a macerate with the leaves of the Neem plant, this as part of the recommendations provided to me to rescue my lemon plant

As the macerate must be several days in the dark to achieve the effect of the neem leaves in the water, the days are not yet fulfilled, while today's work consisted of cutting the dry branches of the plant.

This lemon plant has some years in my small garden, it was born there without looking for it, I did not plant it, I went on a trip, I left it very small, I was distracted with the preparations for the trip...when we returned the plant was very big and it was decided to leave it there, because I said this is a gift from God.

The plant when it started to give us its gifts, it was impressive the size of them, beautiful lemons that I felt impressed with them.

She continued with her harvests, very gracious with each harvest. The last one was so much produce that the gratitude was so great that we took on the task of giving gifts to the neighbors who do not have any in their homes.

Load after load, always kind. Then I noticed that there were black leaves, I cleaned them, then the leaves were filled with white fluff, the same went on with loads. The trunk has turned black. It continues to put its respective water every day and has been step by step cleaning the leaves, which can at times that I dedicate myself to it. It is a task of dedication and with a lot of respect for it.

The truth is that the contamination was growing, the plague took over.

Today, while the days of waiting for the macerated product are over, I completed the next task, which is to cut the dry branches. It was a very careful task, I removed as far as I could the dry twigs, and other not so small ones, being very careful not to mistreat it and not to mistreat myself with its thorns.

I was able to remove a few branches, twigs and leaves. It has stems filled with a gauze like a cotton can be called.

While I was doing this work, I was thinking about the dedication of the people whose work is to cultivate citrus, extensions of land with this type of plantation, of course, maybe they take care of the plants since they are small so that this does not happen and the plants are always healthy. I was thinking about the types of medicines they use, the people who apply medicines to them, to keep track and how to attack in case of an epidemic.

This plant does have a load, and it really gave a lot of flowers, then we saw how the small lemons fell, I thought that the lemons would not be saved. In spite of everything it has lemons that have grown, not like the first ones, but you have to use them immediately because they tend to harden their peel and of course their juice is not easy to drink.

Waiting for the product that is being macerated to comply with step three which is the application of the same on its leaves, try to be well covered, hoping for the best result. As I saw that the plant is in very bad condition put to prepare more leaves to macerate so that it does not lack and can cover the seven days of treatment.

In spite of its illness it does not stop giving shelter to the little birds that make their nests there.

That lemon tree recovers its state of health, it is quite large and how nice that it has grown without care, it means that the place where it was was ideal for its growth 🙏 hopefully it will give you many nice lemons and the birds continue nesting there hehe

Glad to see photos of you pruning it. I think thinning it out to let sunlight through will help the most. All that moldy fungus thrives under dark areas where the leaves are thick.

Try adding something like gypsum to the soil to help improve drainage, and leech out salts from fertilizers. If the roots are black and rotting, there isn't much maintenance above that will help.

Hope your tree rejuvenates. It is so large and fruitful. Having too much fruit can also stress the tree a lot, opening it up for diseases. Removing excess unripe fruit is a good idea when the tree is having a weak year.

Thank you for sharing. It helps me learn what signs of disease look like if it strikes my citrus tree too.

Hello @creativetruth Using photos where I see myself is already a habit for me with the experience of the #plantpowervegan community, there they request that you should be out in the preparation process, before I did not like to be in the photos for the platform.

So far the root is holding up well, of course if I had noticed that maybe it would have dried out months ago.

Yesterday I delivered another one, with the continuation of the suggestions made to me, today I started to apply the preparation with the Neem macerate, this is seven days, soon another post.

Ahhh, I forgot to tell you that its roots are fine because it has been thriving with new leaves for a few weeks now.

So my faith to the end and more.
