I'm sure many have heard of how Telegram is now the hottest place for crypto airdrops. There are tons of new and even old projects using this platform to advertise and gain a massive following. They do this by utilizing Telegram's new feature that enables it to run games within the platform. From Hamster Kombat, Pixelverse, Gemz, and Dogs, there are now tons of ongoing tap-to-airdrop campaigns.
But I've recently came across a newly launched project called Wizzwoods. It's different from the rest because instead of being a tapping game, this is more of a farming simulator.
Its simplistic aesthetics reminded me of the pre-android smartphone games. It immediately became my favorite game on Telegram at the moment.
This brings me to my topic of why I think Telegram might be the top gaming platform in the future. Here are some of the reasons:
It's Very Accessible
Telegram already is a very popular social platform with millions of users. And the games that you can run from it takes seconds to load and you can play almost immediately. There's no need to install anything on your phone. The switch from game to messaging is also very easy and fast. No need to jump into Discord to reach out to the gaming community to talk about stuff. It's all inside one application.
It's Hypercasual
While I don't know the extent of Telegram's gaming capabilities, I'm guessing it's not that powerful. But hypercasual games do not require heavy computing power. And despite this, millions of users are entertained by these games. I think Telegram won't have any trouble accommodating tile-matching or farming simulator games.
It's Also a Wallet
Telegram also has a wallet feature where users can transact in crypto and fiat currencies. This would be appealing to both developers and users as transactions are made within the platform and there's no need to connect to other applications.
These are just a few of the reasons I can think of right now as to why Telegram can be a potential hotspot for gaming. I personally would like to see an RPG genre project in the future. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it for sure.
