Elden Ring: A Manor Full of Nightmares

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Let's continue my Elden Ring adventures. You may remember that last time we were in the swamps region in Liurnia of the Lakes. There was a Glintstone Dragon Smarag that I fought hard to take down, but even after many tries, I couldn't defeat it. I thought I was still very underequipped for this attack and left it.

I found a weird singing bat that was much stronger than the normal ones. It poisoned me, too, but nothing I couldn't manage. Later, I found a group of jellyfish. This time, they were all aggroed and protecting an item. That item was just Blood Grease, a consumable that makes your armament build up bleed. Not bad for a boss.

I fought another Pumpkinhead guy; he wasn't too tough, but I love his head. He dropped his weapon too which has an innate blood loss buildup too. Might be useful later, but for now, I was happy with my Katana.

After multiple base raids and dying a few times from the big shielded soldier. I reached the Four Belfries. These seem to be mysterious towers, with portals that take you to different locations in the game.

But each of them requires an Imbued Sword key. I found one in the chest and used it to open one of the portals.

This took me to the starting location of the game. The Chapel of Anticipation. This is where the game starts, and the first boss kills you and sends you to the bottom of the cave.

I thought this Grafted Scion would take a long time, as the first time I fought it was tough, which makes sense too, I had no level up or good armour and weapons.

It dropped an Ornamental Straight Sword, which doesn't have the best attributes, so I am not planning to use it. Also, it dropped its Golden Beast Crest Shield. This might be more useful later as it is quite heavy (12.5 units) too, and I need a lot more strength to use it effectively. For now, my brass shield (7.0 units in weight) is all that I am relying on.

There was nothing else except this little boss fight there. I got back to the Four Belfries. But sadly, that was my only imbued sword key.

I kept moving north and found the Kingsrealm Ruins. These ruins were taken over by some mages and wolves. Nothing too bad, but those mages were annoying. They keep disappearing and hitting me with their magical projectiles.

On the back side of these ruins was a giant reading a book. All the giants I have faced until now were trying to kill me. This one looked more civilised than the others. I had to make a tough jump to get to him.

Turns out he was a blacksmith named Iji. I used his services to upgrade my Uchigatana, and he told me about the dangers that lie ahead in this place.

He told us that there is a manor not far away from this place that belongs to the Carian royal family. But who is he to warn me? I will do whatever I want...right? I tried to hit him to see what would happen. I could hit him, and he didn't like it, but I continued out of curiosity just to see if he wanted to fight back. But nope, he just disappeared...likely not gonna come back here again. Whoops! That's one less blacksmith in this world, I guess.

This Caria manor was a brutal place. The blacksmith was right, it was overrun by ugly, severed hands that would ambush you and kill you quickly.

Fighting them wasn't working well, so I decided to sneak in or just run through them until I saw another Lost grace to sit down.

It wasn't a big place, not even half of the Stormveil castle; that thing was huge. But the manor, not so much.

I hated the knights there, these bitches were tough, they almost frustrated me. But the good thing was that they were giving nice runes so I could upgrade my character and get stronger here despite the contestant deaths.

Finding the rare Golden seed was so worth it. These seeds help me increase the number of flasks I can have. More of these, please!

What made me quit this long session of play was the giant with a magical sword that deals a ton of damage. This thing was tough, and I was done dying for the day.

I made a lot of progress in this session. Had to run away from the dragon, so I am not dying over and over and quitting the game. Went on to kill the first boss I encountered in the game. I was thinking that a long time ago that when I would get to kill it. And now trying to get to the boss of this Caria Manor, if there is one! But this seems to be a much tougher region, so I might have to skip it for now and come back to it at a later stage. Not that I am running out of places to explore.

Until next time...

I have heard a lot of good things about Elden Ring. It has always turned me away due to the complexity of the game and difficulty (or so i've been told.) Makes me nervous to try it. I get really angry sometimes when gaming when i fail too many times xD Beautiful game it seems and nice post from you!

The difficulty kinda turned me away from all the Souls games, but I finally decided to give them a chance and take on this challenge. Started with Elden Ring as this was quite popular, and I loved the modern graphics.

Maybe i'll have the oomph to try them some day!

That area of the mansion is horrible. I ended up hating those giant hands, they are easily more annoying than some boss. Every time I saw them I would do the same thing, avoid them and try to advance without fighting haha.

I hate those hands so much. Once I get really strong (in like few years lol), I will come back here just to get my revenge on those hands.

En algún momento lo podré jugar , tremendo juego
