I've actually seen my colleagues use Swan-Ganz catheters once, but I honestly forgot the indication. It does exist! I know that our cardiologists like to use them.
Patient education is somewhat I definitely enjoy, even if they're just snippets of relevant knowledge. And I don't mean talking down to them with instructions, but actually explaining why certain things about their condition work the way they do. It's fun seeing the light bulb go on when I give a clear explanation for something they sometimes haven't understood for years, possibly due to inadequate communication!
